but you can allways do this, you dont even need apocalypse for that. its perfectly valid. its fluffy and makes sense and everything. Would you however, say the same if someone fielded a death company and an uberequipped Dark Eldar lord along with his Imperial Guard?

The bottom line is, its pointless to argue about house rules. Everyone will have their own and it would be rare and rather masochystical to play apocalypse with complete strangers and with your buddies you will simply agree on a house rule that suits all of you best
I would disagree, but only because DE and Imperial forces would never team up. However I probably would not disgree with someone fielding a IG army and including his Tau Monat Battlesuit or even a small Tau detachment like Pathfinders or somethign similar to that. As long as fluff wise it can make sense I am fine with it.

I do however agree with you that everyone will have their own house rules and its silly to a degree with us saying what shoudl be allowed and what shouldn't as what can only really be ruled on is what is legal by RAW.

jlong05 it is sometimes dangerous to rely on fluff to set rules (even house rules) as basically everything can be reasoned with a bit of fantasy. A DE Lord could be an imperial super assassin and 2 carnifexes just some genetical experiments unleashed :)
Sometimes it is ok and can be a fun scenario but both parties should be aware of it and agree beforehand, so thats why it should be an exception that needs approval, instead of the norm.

Yeah, I discovered this a few weeks back. I though Spack found the issue and fixed it. Oh well.

And I 'should' have been clear to explain the exceptions also. 'IF', and I really mean if, there is a good, solid, fluffy background for 'why' what woudl be listed as enemies is included, and its plausible(as you have provided) I would also be ok with that. Which is another reason for my arguments on the no less than 1500 point thing. Its less likely(in your argument) for Sms to be allied with a full detachment of Dark Eldar, but, a single DE Lord who is working for them as an uber assasin against Chaos or some other shared foe, I would be ok with.

I agree that fluff cant be used in place of book rules, but it 'can' be used to weigh how a house rule should be used.

Ah, of course! The forum code is like that to stop people deleting stuff to hide what they've posted. I'll remove that post for you, any moderator can do so. If you think it'll be more useful to allow your own posts to be deleted that aren't the last in a thread then I'll mod the code to allow it.

UPDATE: Had no replies, so just did it anyway. You can now delete your own posts even if they are not the last post in a topic.

Hang on a tick... Freddy Ljundhammer? Good old Fred dybnu hammerhand (an ode to the great yorkshire steeplejack)? I feel so utterly dumb for not having spotted you earlier.
Then you make it even more obvious by trying to make demonhosts good  (BTW you haven't uploaded the demonhost sheet yet)
I get the idea, and why they infiltrate. the roxxer369er rounder in me says why wouldn't those specific units cameleoline\jungle fighter\ apoc camoflage to reflect their true sneakyness (uber vets). But I appreciate that makes them a tad expensive (as points would have to reflect this) adds complexity and generally wouldn't sit well with you.

Fresh one- Magnus possesses a scout warhound titan (fluff wise it has psychic crew or he demonically posesses the vehicle), just by throwing a few things together from conversations over the last week: He'll confer "all is dust" to rubric squads (or all with an icon of tzeentch?) within 12" (they ignore any weapon str 4 and lower weapon) Note this might sound uber but remember its apocolypse how many weapons are going to shoot near a titan that are only strength 4.
Rules of themselves- like p125 but..... (Work in progress, I'm a complete noob with titans so these may sound a bit random to an old hand at IA) Some agility is lost (no 2d6 fleet) due to the concentraion required. I figure the existing guns can be counts as psychic powers (too much fiddle recreating all of them and relating them to p52 BGB) I think I'd like more void sheilds (to fit the new rubrics 4+ invulnerable) (I just read p91 on them not being locked with termies thats handy..I think?)
I'm tempted to also say that in closecombat (as long as he doesn't stomp) on top of normal attacks he may choose 1 enemy squad within 6"(infantry only not vehicle) with. If he rolls over the toughness of the toughest member something akin to tide of spawn (p174) happens... A super gift of chaos from the uber lord of change?
I figure that dependant on how many void sheilds are added and how many negatives we can find to pile on around 200points on top (as it really only adds some more dice rolls and protects people who really ought to be behind him) Views?

After some lunch I'm really liking my spin on jlongs torch em rule.

This thread is getting a bit out of hand, I think each different sheet needs it's own topic. How about I make KMBs initial post and it's related replies into a stickied thread, and move each datasheet and it's discussion to it's own topic with "Apocalypse Homebrew" at the start of the topic name?

Great idea. I was thinking the same thing a while back but didn't have a way to move a thread(Not a moderator :)) so I just kept going on this one. That would be very helpful though as we can better follow each specific homebrew rules.

I've tidied things up a bit, I hope I've kept all the rights posts together (or at least close enough that the threads are readable). I've also adjusted the attachment quotas - max file size is now 512k, with a default max quota per person of 5MB.
