1500 Chaos Marines- Update

Seeing as I managed to rack up a fun three losses and one draw during the AoS weekend I thought I should probably spruce up my army list.
After a little consideration I decided to out the Oblit, as all it ever did was overheat its Plasma Cannon and the damned thing is always falling to pieces. I also removed the biker lord, as he just died before getting close enough to use his icon to full effect.
After looking though the Codex for someone to replace the lord as second HQ, I came across Khârn's stat line and realised that for 20 Pts less the biker lord, Khârn can unleash seven Strength six Initiative six Power Weapon attacks that hit on a 2+. As for getting an icon in to place, I went for Chosen who can infiltrate and being so close at from the start of the game I armed them for such a role :twisted: .

Nice list, its got a good mix of firepower and combat ability. I have a suggestion though, lose the bolt of change on the daemon prince mainly because he will more than likely be flying at heavily armoured troops, wind of chaosing them then assualting them. He may not have time to nuke tanks with the bolt. Also as a monstrous creature he can just punch them to death. With losing the bolt and if you can srape 10 points from somewhere buy the thousand sons a rhino, just to get into close range quicker and counter the possibility of some poor slowness rolls.

What the colonel says about the DP and 1ksons needing a transport for protection (when I have 4 squads outside transports I have a moving wall of synergy death that doesn't allow anything within 24 inchs(hopefully and that list totally sucks in 5th ed).. yours needs more subtlety)

Chosen in dawn of war..(which seems to happen to you a fair bit) would presumably outflank at some stage from the sides or walk on..Thats not great for your icon placement. I wouldn't mix weaponry(even on chosen). You've chosen flamers.. you infiltrate 18"s away move 6 and fire a 8"s inch template (thats short even if you go first)?

(unsure one)You tempted to make the chainfist the champion.. 4 chainfist attacks on the charge against a landraider=yummy. Other than that..thats a lot of wound allocation :p (yeah you could fit 2 termicide+chainfists in but that would be boring)

Beserkers- drop the havoc launcher(maybe just another bolter to stop cumulative weapon destroyeds stopping it)
..its moving fast and popping smoke to deploy 300 points.. when is it going to choose not to and fire a small template instead (and when is your opponent going to let a tin coffin charge across the field unmolested..expecting it to keep a weapon on it till turn 3 is very optimistic).I know EA is a bit wasted when its only for one dice result.. but you are staking so many points in the rhino..it might be worth it.


You know kharn doesn't disembark rhinos, he eats his way out the front to get to the battle quicker. :mrgreen:

I can see 1 synergy..but its damn difficult, you use the chosen as honey pot to pull units towards it (to kill them).. bring your rhino up by cover of combat (unmolested) and having pulled everything around you the others shoot off stragglers whilst you throw stuff into the melee.
Most other things my minds eye sees is just a number of units moving around the table hoping not to get shot (e.g. Dawn of war would be (fistless) beserkers kharn and rhino pelt forward..hoping for first turn unsupported and relying on 4+s sat praying in a rhino that when they jump out next turn they can charge something other than sacrificial unit "wendal".
What other models have you got?
