I used the Deceiver in my last battle as an experiment, he turned out to be better than I thought.

Soooooo many people would see a C'Tan and a Monolith in 1500 points and cry cheese.

I would see this across the table from me in a tournament and would practically cheer. Because I play the Necrons and know many strengths and weaknesses, I would have you phasing out before you know it.

I would pretty much ignore the deceiver, monolith and pariahs to begin with. Unless I couldn't get LoS to anything else. When an army brings its full complement of Las and Plasma against your warriors, there is no standing back up. First turn of shooting would probably drop 9-10 necrons, with maybe 2 of them getting we'll be back rolls. And that's assuming that about 35% of my shots miss.

I faced a list similar to this once. It was the Nightbringer and Monolith. My bugs ate them quite effectively.

I`m quite new to this anyway so you probably would win. I don`t have my full army sorted yet but it`s getting there. I`m constantly learning new things about the Necrons, maybe one day I`ll get it sussed. I used this line up in battle and the Deceiver did some good work.......next HQ I`ll use will either be a Destroyer lord AND Necron Lord or the Nightbringer. I was going to add to my Pariah unit but I think I have enough close combat stuff now....I`ll more than likely add some Immortals.

Phase out is a danger, as is the deceiver getting swarmed, you will find it annoying if it is attacked by 30 grots that tie it down for the remainder of the game.

Most of your opponents will try to phase you out rather than destroy all your units, also pariahs are not really CC models. they may have a nice CC weapon but with only 1 attack and init3 most of them will be dead before they ever strike. I find their best use would be just to use their guns and the psychic power to make your opponents run from CC.

Pariahs supporting flayed ones work wonders against non fearless enemies as they will normally be hitting the flayed ones on 6s only.
