1750 BT for Independant GT

Hey guys,

In march ill be popping along to the UK independent GT, and after the recent BT FAQ have decided to use BT as my list of choice.

The list is much the same as I used with my space wolves, only I get Logans tank hunting and preferred enemy in a lot more spots, at the cost of only having 14 troop models.

The idea is to in the first turn or two, shoot out as many threats to my scoring units as possible, while marching towards the enemy lines, before deploying the troops at the most defensible objective and contesting the rest.

I have a good ammout of experience using small elite armies, and having 23 terminators, is a relatively high model count for me.

Shoot the assaulty guys, assault the shooty guys being the usual basic tactic.

The plasma guns are in the troops, as I have a specific lack of AP 2.

List as follows:


HQ
Emperors champion – accept any challenge = 140
Marshall – Thunder hammer, Storm shield, Terminator armour, Adamantine mantle, Teleport homer, Bionics = 195
Terminator command squad – 5 – 2 cyclone missile launchers, tank hunters = 268
ELITES
Terminator squad – 5 – 2 cyclone missile launchers, tank hunters = 265
Terminator squad – 5 – 2 cyclone missile launchers, tank hunters = 265
Assault terminator squad – 8 – 2 twin lightning claws, 6 thunder hammer terminators = 320
Troops
Crusader squad – 9 – power fist, plasma gun = 181
Drop Pod = 30
Crusader squad – 5 – plasma gun, lascannon = 101

Total = 1749

My IG don't lack AP2 guns so this list would suffer. That said, it all depends on what u managed to kill 1st. We can have a test game at AOS meetup if u like.

As for the list I'm amazed termie lists even get considered, but you did play Ur SW list well last game we had.

Its a crime not to take an auspex or 4 if you can, (anyone infilrating near you ..each unit.. has the chance of getting battered, back in the day I always gave my termie sargents this (check faq to check still valid) the rest of the web doesn't seem to have remembered this yet, but imagine the whole darkwynd haha genestealers!1 list..vs 3 termie squads that might get free shots on everything within reach before the game begins.(6 points for 3 termies chances of shooting lazy/clumsy kroot and nid tarpits..yes please..especially since you've taking the skill that makes you semi rage and must assault tarpits.)
I'd add a chainfist to each termie squad, for wound allocation and landraider cracking.
I'd get the points by turning the 9 man foot squad into 5 man + one nooby neophyte lasplas in a rhino-161
I also suspect that the droppodding unit (due to it being able to be either closer or further away but late in the game should have a multimelta (as thats the point when you'll need area denial/battering power).
