Just before I get carried away with my next army choice I thought I had better add the extra 250 pts worth to my CSM for larger tourneys..................

current list.....

2 x Lash DP
7 PG........2 melta / PF / Rhino
6 PG........2 flamer / PF / Rhino
8 Zerks.....PF ( in LR )
2 x 2 oblits
LR

I have 5 bikes and a box of Termies, was thinking ( would like a PF champ )

5 bikers MoN with 2 x melta

5 termies MoK with PF champ

think the bikes give me that unti to turbo on an objective late in the game

also I could swap the Zerks for some Termies to go in LR which frees up a hevy choice ( either oblits ore support LR )

Why 1750- is that what you consider an army done?-personal preference..I consider 1750 a really odd number a lot of US folks play 1850 and big games start at 2000..but I guess its all about area and what you feel like isn't it :D

I'm really uncomfortable with chaos bikes..I use a bunch of imperial bikes and its a fun struggle. That said that build shows some promise, they really can just evaporate though (those scatter laser warwalkers, 5 krak missile long tooths etc). must admit I've just left them off most of my lists so really don't have much in game experience with them.Yours is 235.. Thats 2 good termicides that could come off a beserker icon instead- killing stuff on arrival then charging squishy bits.

Not keen on the termie swap out, losing your aggressive unit that can hold an objective is a big downside. -and more bodies means a looser coherancy and the chance to engage more units (be able to hide in relative safety or at least take more of the fiends with you) termies are good, and cheap..But the strength in the chaos codex is the 2 PBs 1 beserkers that can score combo..it really does make smurf troops look like leftovers :)

What price are Lash and the naked DP?

If it's 25 and 90 then I come out at 1497.

KMB............ list with pts values and equipment

Seems to be 1750pts around here with only Britcon being 2000 pts

2 x DP ( lash /wings ) 310pts
7PM with 2 melta and PF champ ( rhino ) 256 pts
6 PM with 2 flamers ( Rhino ) 183 pts
8 Zerks with PF champ / icon 213 pts
2 x 2 oblits 300 pts
LR with extra armour 235 pts

total 1497 pts
( are you guys adding a champ into the smaller PM unit )

The Bikers are expensive at the best of times and with Mon even more so but the one think I missed is the ability to get onto another objective.

could take 2 x Termicede squads as you suggested ( 1 PF and either 2 x combi melta or combi flamer ) but they seem easy KP's

Oh yeah I was :P Well glad it wasn't anything more serious 8) :D

Fairly easy killpoints, in that its 6 invulnerables that might be plasma cannoned. but I have to counter how many killpoints will the bikes gain? Probably held in reserve..turn 3 turboboost on.Turn 4 start shooting at big vehicle might pop it.
Compared to 2 units = more chance of one on turn 2 (when your still in the LR pops a tank..hopefully).. turn 3 moves up to squish something.. other unit turns up pops something turn 4 two termie units back on squishy things.
I'd be tempted by 2x3 chainfist-melta, melta, heavy flamer lots of ways to stack wounds.. can ransack a landraider, can hurt hordes.
Or for less killpoints 5 termies, MOT (4+ invulnerable) chainfist combi melta, powerfist combimelta, heavy flamer, combi flamer, melta. I think very roughly my first opponent had that (although he didn't have the MOT)

KMB

See where your coming fromwith the Termies, what about the other 4 games........... are the bikers just as survivable if they turbo and make thier cover saves............ ? although Hydra's could be a problem, but how many of them will you come across ?

Not many ..yet.
But (just checking) the special rules for the hydra don't really hurt meq bikes Oh noes I can't have my 3+ cover saves.. I'll just have to use my regular 3+ since the weapon is only AP4..Its more that each tank will basically force 4 saves on your squad (be it 4 or 4/5)
Other 4 games- As in game types? bikes would have an issue contesting an enemy base (heavily defended normally in terrain which can't be TB'd onto) stick with the zerkers, They could hide and contest in the 4+ objectives..but so could a rhino.As in at the GT?-I only faced chaos once :( ., they just aren't the cheap throw away eldar jet bikes are.
Survivability- tricky and METAy..a 3+ cover will be better against alot of things..but your not doing anything in those turns , so its just an objective contestor.Guard and other things can order that you get no cover (bad bad bad bad and I'm amazed my opponents never remembered to do it to me, in fact i only had one order cast on me in 13 turns at the GT..and I turbo'd a lot) a 2+ is better, but does the T5 protect from more small arms fire yada yada, I'm fairly sure if I spent a week working it out I could mathhammer a comparison but would you hold it as having any weight?
When used offensively the turboboost is used to get you into guarenteed position, or to be in a holding position waiting for enemys to show up (like i did killing time waiting for tau to roll in) whereas termie will just land in position (especially with an icon- and the maths for that are sexy :5sonar , your in a landraider, it comes off the vehicles hull you measure 6"s to where you place the edge of your heavy flamer termie (he's not going to shoot at AV12+), then you place your melta termies in front of him which is a 15" addition to the radius/perimeter whatever of the landraider for targets within double dice range.)
Bikes can be lashed, can be thunderfired, murderous hurricaned..all of which can cause big casualties and stop you turboboosting. I thought james brother was joking when he thought my list was uber gamey, in a comp environment 8) ..
