I actually had a good experience with demons last night...It wasn't ha ha everything CC is 40"s away.. It wasn't 12 bloodthirsters.
The scatter though a bit off didn't kill 400 points like last time (and like I've seen it kill king)..so I figured I'd look at bringing my list again for the less competitive (though no less friendly) games.

So my 1500 list last night was (note new list at bottom)
Lord of change, Blue scribes,Herald on disc with Boon
6 Fiends(in previous games its been 11 hounds,karanak)4 Flamers, 4 Bloodcrushers in nob biker formation (icon, rending instrument and a red shirt)
6 Blood letters with insturment,6 plague marines with icon,3x 5 horrors with upgrades of BOC on 1 each..+1 squad had the changeling..

I consider it its first real game (since others have been total poo)
It fought Inquisitor with chichugreons and heavy bolters guys (+ablative wounds stackkers) inquisitor Ljundhammer in CC formation with retinue and stuff. A sack of assassins, stormtroops dual plas in dakka pred style chimeras, 2 demon hosts (who even I agree are useless...so that everytime i GET CHARGED BY 6xSTR9 T7 i FAINT IN SURPRISE!!).
Game went well. Ljundhammers initial defence, (of being inside a tank wall) was a negative as it meant I could surround him early on, meaning my lack of mobility would never be a problem (well apart from when he start tank shocking me all over the place :) )
We thought herald+ bluescribes chucking out 3 boon spawn a turn in total (with almost no reality rules) was a tad rude (I turned inquisitor ljundhammer into dribbling spawn ljundhammer who went off to lick a rhino clean for the remainder of the game) so I'm dicthing the herald.
The changeling was just one thing too much for us all to remember.. and LH just shot at other stuff with his LD reliant units.. so he's gone in the name of simplicity.
The 4 flamers, landed killed a storm trooper squad (failed in 5 attempts to damage the tanks behind the squad.. and then died when the crushers charged the tank and blew it up..mobility, landing cost and arc of fire..I am now a solid convert to the "power of 3 will set us free" crap. So one of them is gone.
The horrors did admirably (1 got wiped out by mass assassin and demon host, 1 died to dakka chimera.. and I welcome LH driving by the thread and describing his anguish at his main CC unit being tied up with them for 4 turns :) )
The bloodletters killeds some stormtroopers then all melted away (remind me the AB2.2 stats have them having 2 wounds.>I need to mod my printouts)
The blood crushers were awesome, they spread wounds like a cheesy bugger.. they were tarpitted early on by a demonhost and a bunch of assassins, but the high T saw them off.And then slanneshy things were just plain mean..(but need might so I can stack)
The lord of change..having been the ONLY unit to do anything in previousgames (killed a leman russ and a fair few things) died without doing anything..(Of course to put this in a tactical context it absorbed my opponents entire shooting for 1 turn..so nothing isn't exactly graduate level judgement)But still when LH found out how much he'd killed (2 CSM DPs with wings of points.. we did chuckle a bit).. But I like him he stays..(god knows why him being able to use his bolter and his BOC at different targets should cost him 3 plaguebearers.. but I'm not doing it..screw versitile change :) )
game ended with him having 2 fully working tanks left. i managed to charge one with my plaguebearers to be sat on his objective at the end..V close though.
So if I bring them (if anyone wants me to) I’ll be bringing.
Lord of change (imrik dragon, I’ll hopefully have his pimp stick done in time)
Bluescribes (scratch build from project log)
3 flamers
4 bloodcrushers (icon, rending, instrument, redshirt,) (one blood crusher, 2 cold ones 1 horsey with a bretonian on top (red shirt)
5 fiends of slannessh (I thought they were a bit rude so I took less)(+1 with might) will be goblin wolves.
6 Bloodletters
6 plaguebearers with icon and instrument (it clicked that I shouldn’t give instruments to folks who are good at combat)—(skaven plague monks)
5 horrors 1 with bolt of change(undead magician leading horrors)
5 horrors 1 with bolt of change
5 horrors 1 with bolt of change
Having dropped all that I found I had enough points for
Soulgrinder with vomit, harvester and ++phlegm upgrade.(defiler :oops: )
=1506

What say you lot (tim (who knows the codex)antubis, matt all you lot..) should this turn up in my low-mid range lists?Anyone desperate to try it out?

I've not played daemons so I'm game.

Are we breaking the 1500 limit then?

I thought maths only counted on the interwebz or if you played to win :D i might be able to cut the right arm off one of my plague bearers so that I don't have an instrument..that would make it 1501 :P (I didn't see the unit totals for yours :lol: )

1500 or below on all mine (according to army builder as I'm lazy). I've never even considered going over the points limit...ever! Otherwise, why is it called a limit ;) :P

Well army builder says my bloodletters have 2 wounds, my plaguebearers have power weapons and that I'm 185 over..this however is not the case :lol:
(And half the folks I play can't count for toffee and only on turn 3 say they may or may not be 80 points over..I figure 5points above (or below) is tolerable) but if you wish I'll drop the gamey unholy might on the fiend (shame just painted)=1496 and I don't have to chop off a plaguebearers arm.. only a wolfs head.(i'd given him a big metal helmet and everything)
