to be serious though Al; I think it has something to do with the over all army choices. What they gain in the cheap trooper cost they loose out on in other areas.

for eample, sm have accessto a load of anti tank killing potential. I think that has to come into the equation that they do somewhere.

Attack Bikes with MMeltas. Trooperswith meltas or lascannons.... etc.

Anywys, Hordes won't care, so nows the time for them nids u've talked about so often.

I can see why on interceptors, as they are fast. As to strike squads, no idea - I can't see why they cost more than psycannons :?:

Dont forget that Strike Squads can Deepstrike so it might be because they are also considered fast.

I don't think this particular one is 'cheap' but it does seem to be an alternative model, anyone know who the manufacturer is?

Not sure where that one is from, but I'd look here:
http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/minia ... Series=65#

there a a few singles, and there appears to be a gang shot that shows a few more

Edit: on topic Using a er, dubious source codex, I've pointed my army up with the closest fit possible without changing anything. I had to drop a couple of special weapons (1 per 5 men) but I knew this would happen. I've made the points back by buying psycannon ammo for a couple of squads. The henchman unit is probably a dubious use of points at best being a bit of a mix of types.
However, it does come out at 1500pts exactly, just as it was before.

Also, can anyone actually tell me what a force halberd does beyond the usual nemesis force weapon stuff?

+2 to initiative, and don't forget its 2 handed (for balance lolz) amazing how many folks are asking about them ;)

KInG wrote:ps: what is + 2 psyflemen 270

2 twinlinked autocannon dreadnought =125 points is rifleman dreadnought.
2 twinlinked str 8 autocannon with +4 reinforced aegis strength 8 weaponry, demonically possessed dreadnought is 135. 135 x2=270
They are one of the very very cheap things in the codex, along with other bits I could moan about

Can't most high str you can get on a dedicated transport is the one use missile or lascannon razorback/asscan razorback.

Interesting list from Stelek (warning - profanities abound in the link, so if you are under 12, or are of a nervous disposition, please click for the lulz, you might like it)

It looks good, but dull (I'm not buying that many rhino chassis to use it - no matter how much Nige claims poverty...)

My current army is:

GKGM - force sword + pyscannon

Inquisitor + 6 henchmen

5 Termies (incinerator)

3 Termies ( pyscannon plus thunder hammer storm shield)

10 storm troopers and rhino with 2 meltaguns

5x GK with incinerator
5x GK with incinerator
6 x GK with 2 x incinerators

Storm raven with multimelta and plasma cannons plus bolters

Dreadnaught with CCW and twin linked las plus incinerator

Land raider crusader

Plus the option of another 30 storm troopers and assassins

No idea the value now nor what wargear I could give them as not seen codex yet.

Well here's mine:

grandmaster, psy cannon, mcraft F halberd.
inquisitor, T armour, psy cannon

V dreadnought, twin lascannon
Paladin terminators (4), psy cannon, 2 daemon hammers
Vindicare assassin
Warband, 2 daemonhosts, 2 deathcult assassins, 3 servitors, 1 mystic, 2x warriors

Grey knight terminators (5) 5x halberds, psybolt ammo
strike squad (5) psycannon, 3x halberds, psybolt ammo
strike squad (5) incinerator, 3x halberds

thats it! 1500 pts. Just trying to fit the old list in a closely as possible. I've had to drop one psycannon and one incinerator model each from the power armour squads, shove the daemonhost models in, drop the sage henchman (doesn't seem to exist anymore), pretend the inquisitors chainfist is a daemon hammer, count the terminator t hammer stormshield combo as a daemonhammer and stormbolter and upgrade the dreadnought to a venerable dread (to make up points).

I also have Stern available. Sadly my radical inquisitor in terminator armour, null rod, needle pistol / bolter combi weapon is no longer possible to make, and my ordos xenos inquisitor in terminator armour with psy cannon, power fist and digital weapons isn't possible either. They can be pointed up counts as and ignoring certain wargear, but I feel they will retire this edition.

I don't get it, HQ lessor obliterators, 2x squads too big for their transport just for base holding and 7 basic razorbacks as firesupport units.
With him wanting fire units at the back that hold and 5 man unit midfield, basic razorbacks and psyflemen... I would suggest modding my lists bling/split to his will would do him better than his list would do for him.
It appears that somehow I created a hybrid between sample 3++ and YTTH lists without having read either :)

@ everyone with their old lists - did you play these often? It's been so long since I got my GKs out that I can't find them at the moment! I don't think I've used my GK for about 4 years because they sucked so badly I couldn't even get a fun game out of them! (although 3.5 Chaos Thousand Sons v's GKs was a great match up)

My old army list for DH was (roughly):

=][= lord: Daemonhammer, stormshield, insense, & other anti-chaos stuff
with 3 x accolytes, 3 x warriors, familiar, 2 x heirophants in a rhino

4 x 5/6 man double special weapon stormtroopers in chimeras

2 x Daemonhosts

6 x DCA

It was crap, but by golly it was good fun...

It is still just about doable in the new codex, I need to switch my lord's shield for something & bam - Corteaz! Then it's a case of trying to get the henchment to work without it turning into a crap version of IG. I may have a play when I get some time - could be good for a laugh if nothing...

EDIT: KMB - got to admit I wasn't really loving Stelek's army list - looks very boring to play, and even then I think it starts to suffer once out of the boxes (although it does have a lot of boxes) I agree that yours is, I think, better.

My old list. No I hardly ever play with the Knights any more. Probably a couple of games in the last few years. Thats what steeled me against buying any new models at all. I'm in no hurry for the book either. It will probably get added on to 2nd wave nid order whenever that will be.
