I only read the new codex haven't played against them yet. but it didn't look like many changes and I have slaughtered 2nd and 3rd edition codexes many times over.


But the eldar player in our group and the ones that play at out local gw are really bad so Ill plan on playing against them a bit more in the future

All I have to say is beware the Pathfinder.

I played CoD and the Eldar player fielded like 4 full squads of Pathfinders with Sniper Rifles. Took the sniper bonus in CoD and destroyed my entire Grey Knights army in 3 turns. Damn AP1 hits when they roll a 5 or a 6 killed me. Auto hits on 4+ wounds on 2+ and with the lowered AP for the 5-6 rolls I got toasted.

Pathfinders get AP1 on a 5+, normal rangers on a 6+.

Isn't that a strategem or is it a new codex rule I read it a few weeks ago alittle fuzzy memory...

It's a codex rule, in the ranger unit - they can be upgraded to pathfinders for +5 pts per model, giving them AP1 on a 5+ and a +2 bonus to cover save rather than the normal +1.
