OK, I'll bite. Why do you have Tank Hunter on Heavy Bolter armed Devastators? That seems like wasted points.

the reason i have tank hunter on heavy bolter dev squads is for 2 reasons, First, i cant roll less than a 9 for priority checks whenever dreads come towards me! and second, Waveserpents and falcons have armour 12! I can kill skimmer eldar armies!

I can only glance, but hey, i can only glance anyway's, Rhinos become no problem! 5glance, 6penetrate! As i said, dreadnoughts can be popped! so it's not quite as mad as it looks, and yes i know i could get a missile launcher in there instead, but hey, you've never seen me roll to hit!

In the last 4 games, i've scored 2 rendering hits!!!! Thats both for troop killing and 6's for tank killing!

Trust me! Multiple shot weapons are my friends!!!!

I thought it had to be something like that. I've only seen folks use that skill on the "big" guns, but your logic is quite good.

And I know what you mean about multiple dice rolls being important. Ever seen Moriar wiff all of his attacks? Charging Death Company Dreadnought loses to a Killa Kan, the shame of it is still with me. :)

Oh dear!
The worse one i've ever seem was one of my mates walk up to my termi's with 2 oblit, rapid fire plasma, and kill him own oblit's! Now thats a special moment!

But i'm finding the attack bike are not doing well!
Any thoughts!

I also had no luck with Attack Bikes till I attached a Techmarine to the unit. The reroll and Power Weapon+Servo Claw really beef up the units capabilities.

I go with the Techie, 2 Hvy Bolters and a Multi-melta so I'm blasting 15 dice into an enemy that I can then assault with 4 no sv, 9 regular and 1 Power Fist attack. I end up with an 8 wound T5 unit that throws a massive amount of very accurate fire into a target and then crushes any survivors. I've used them as Command Squad hunters with a goodly amount of success.

++ Having as many squads as possible?
:?
I don't think that will work so well when none of them will survive to 'scoring status'. 3 deaths in each squad and they no longer score. 3 deaths can be achieved quickly enough by your opponent. And without scoring units, you won't be holding any objectives or scoring VPs.

Perhaps you disagree, but I am still going to recommend some changes to find some points to save, so you can up your numbers 6 man squads.

1 Epistolary Librarian (HQ) @ 160 Pts
Force Weapon; Storm Shield (x1)
Terminator Armour [25]
#Psychic Hood [0]
#Veil of Time [10]

++Though only a few points, a Storm Shield is an upgrade for 1 point of slightly better Invulnerable Save in h2h. Since he's already a terminator, I'd just get the Storm Bolter, which adds some more offensive dice.
:D

1 Reclusiarch (HQ) @ 112 Pts
Bolt Pistol (x1); Crozius Arcanum; Rosarius
Jump Pack [20]
Teleport Homer [5]
Frag Grenades [1]

++I sincerely believe that Termies should not teleport in. Their guns have good enough range to shoot and kill things on turn one. Plus, bad Reserve Rolls can take away a large chunk of your force for many turns. I'd lose the "T" Homer and not DS your libby's crew.

4 Terminator Squad w/ Assault Cannon (x2)

5 Assault Squad (x3); Flamer (x1); Plasma P Frag Grenades; Melta-Bombs; 1 Veteran Sergeant Frag Grenades; Melta-Bombs, Lightning Claws

++ A LCed sgt. is dang expensive. Add a guy. Add 3 guys. Since none of them have Invulnerable Saves, they won't last, even with the Chaplain's support.

4 Tactical Squad Bolter (x3); Lascannon Sergeant Bolter
4 Tactical Squad Bolter (x3); Lascannon Sergeant Bolter

2 Attack Bike Squadron (Fast Attack) @ 130 Pts
Twin Bolter & 2 Bolt P.; Multi-Melta (x2)

1 LS Tornado Assault Cannon; Heavy Bolter
1 LS Tornado Assault Cannon; Heavy Bolter

4 Devastator Squad Heavy Bolter (x4); Tank Hunter Skill
1 Sergeant l
4 Devastator Squad Heavy Bolter (x4); Tank Hunter Skill
1 Sergeant

Total Army Cost: 1500

++You have a total of 9 scoring units. That is pretty good for a marine army at 1.5k. But each one is really fragile in terms of reducing to non-scoring.

Your enemy will only need to kill 18 guys to leave you with only the speeders and bikes to hold objectives. I use speeders all the time, so I know how vulnerable they are.

I highly recommend tossing the jump crew and chaplain, using their points to flesh out your other units with another guy each. You can do that, *and* add a whole other tactical squad of 6 guys.

I think you will not miss the chaplain & jumpers compared to the greater stability of your army my recommendations would give you.

**A couple suggestions on posting:

**You've no need to post points costs. I know on its forums, GW was persnickity about it...I dunno about here. Also, when listing a sgt. who is not upgraded, there's really no need to post him separately. Note the changes on made on how you could post your list.

1500 Pts - Iron Snakes Space Marines:

1 Epistolary Storm Shield Terminator Armour Veil of Time
Auspex [2]

Auspex is coz I’ve got points left.

**Which is good for a Termie crew. Those guns might actually eliminate infiltrators.
:)

5 Terminator Squad Assault Cannon (x2)

**And, the sergeants are generally assumed to be in the list, unless they've been upgraded. You can save yourself typing time by listing it like this:

5 Man Terminator Squad with 2 ACs

**See?

6 Tactical Squad Bolter (x3); Lascannon (x1); Plasma Gun (x1)
6 Tactical Squad Bolter (x3); Lascannon (x1); Plasma Gun (x1)

2 Attack Bike Squadron Multi-Melta (x2); Frag Grenades; Acute Senses
Skill; Counter Attack Skill

**Hmm. Although the frag grenades don't relaly cost anything, I'm hoping you're not planning on having these guys get into h2h. They just don't hold up in that capacity.

1 LS Tornado Assault Cannon; Heavy Bolter
1 LS Tornado Assault Cannon; Heavy Bolter

6 Devastator Squad Heavy Bolter (x4); Tank Hunter Skill
6 Devastator Squad Heavy Bolter (x4); Tank Hunter Skill

Models in Army: 39

Total Army Cost: 1498[/quote]

I think you're in okay shape for now, but still Elite heavy and troop light, but it is a workable list.

Just so you know. As i said in the first post, this is a copy and paste list! i haven't listed sergents coz i wanted to, or point costs. Their there because thats how it transfers! I thank you for the advice tho! The reason i went for the extra termi's is because the ability to move and shoot is a key advantage. i need to be mobile. I used to take 3 tac squads and a scout squad, but after their set up, it's a nightmare, especially in recon or cleanse when you have to move!

Oh and with the auspex, do you get to shoot at every squad that infiltrates, or just one?

"Oh and with the auspex, do you get to shoot at every squad that infiltrates, or just one?"

That caused a head scratch. I double checked the listing and it doesn't look like it is target/unit specific, so yeah, I think the termie crew could shoot at multiple scout crews, GSs, Stealth Suits, Kroot, etc.

Cut and Paste list? Where'd ja get it?

"The reason i went for the extra termi's is because the ability to move and shoot is a key advantage. i need to be mobile. I used to take 3 tac squads and a scout squad, but after their set up, it's a nightmare, especially in recon or cleanse when you have to move! "

I totally agree on mobility. That's why I don't have heavy weps in my tactical squads. They usually look like this:

8 or 10 guys, including Vet. Sgt w/ PF, and one Plasmagun or meltagun.

So they're moving, and able to take care of anything...at a closer range.

it looks like you use alot of mobility but about the HB Tank Hunters and taking out skimmers I have a few sugestions

-I don't think there are many Eldar players
-That would mean on a 6 you would get a glancing and unless if you roll well it probably won't do that much

Given that Eldar was the big release in November, it's a pretty good bet that a lot of players will be using them as they'll be convinced that it'll be the "best" army available given the "codex creep" effect.
