Tongue wedged in cheek Smily

Thats a tricky thing king,
I'd say 3 was a toughy.. but thats only because my middle of the line lists wouldn't touch it. if I used my "fit for (a) king" lists.. they'd demolish the tough stuff as point sinks and expose its soft underbelly.
Would be good viewing though.. lot of big stuff means a lot of big explosions.(I play movie moments as even holier than fluff)

2 Would only threaten me as long as the assualt marines lived. So it would all be a tactical play on Matts part about when he bishop sacrificed and how much he got for it.(probably it would be turn 3 having prepped by sacrificing the vindie a turn before in overtly aggresive action/distr-action)..I would be intrigued by how my demons would cope with both the layout of 1 and 2 (it would also pressure the release of the sacrifice).

heavy weapons- wouldn't outshoot shooty and only has basic Meq resilience defensivly, basic coherancy whilst maximising shrubs would basically determine the winner.
....I think this one would be "novel" vs my tzeentch, just in that it would nearly all come down to demon prince vs chaplin with full assualt squad and Who can bagsie the most terrain- he'd out range me(free turn), I'd have more weapons that hurt him.

Why don't you do what you and I are already doing king.. why don't you roll 2D4, one of them is the list your taking, and one is the list Matt is taking. (everybody learns something that way)

It has always been the prerogative of half-wits and fools to point out the Emperor has no clothes, but the Emperor remains the Emperor, and the half-wit remains a half-wit.-The Sandman (The friendly ones)

I thought of starting a thread where in I linked back to this one, that linked back to mine that linked back to yours.. but i thought folks might not get it (a bit like a soap opera where you only ever watch the end half of each episode :D )
So based on this thread my fluffy list for today vs tank heavy guard is

Captain on bike, with lightning claws, storm shield, artificer armour=180
Troops
4bikes+ attack bike+power sword,-170 (it might seem tailoring not taking a fist- but really I never find the points for them.. even vs deathguard)
10 SM, Las flamer , H.Bolter razorback -220
10 SM, Las flamer , H.Bolter razorback -220
4sniper scouts+1 krak rocket scout-85
FA
2 MM attack bikes-100
2 Dual heavy bolter speeders-120
1 Speeder with MM and heavy flamer (in a nod to our brothers in armageddon)-70
Heavy
Thunderfire (well it has to come out once)
5 man 4 missile dev squad-150
1 predator dakka config (autocannon and heavy bolters)85

I figure ljundhammer won't like it (he sees through the eyes of deathwing and if it doesn't have 9 lascannon 5 melta its not a threat). I figure to toughen it I'd drop the scouts the thunderfire and find a way to shuffle in a landraider or something. But it has its strong points.. and it has bits that *look* shiny.
But its basically my tribute to a matt list :D (I'll tell you how it goes later on :) )

I like it. ljundhammer will not as it has bikes in it :D
To really make it a Matt list you ned to add pintle mounter SBs to all your vehicles for extra shooty ;)

Let's hope you get a ruin in your deployment zone to bolster and whack the TFC in.... and then not roll DoW!

Looks good to me.

Having now actually used the SM codex, the anti-tank options are a bit gash for the most part...

The only thing I *really* dislike is the lack of fists, but meh, that's my foible.
