Hope you don't mind, but I put your list inside a code block so it retains it's spacing, and added some additional space to break up the list to be a little more readable.
I'd suggest sentinels - they might not be tanks, but they can take the Drop Troops doctrine, and fit well in a Drop army. For fluff you'd want to avoid tanks and other large vehicles as they'd be unlikely to be dropped into the front lines.
If your opponents will let you use Forge World models and rules and much better idea would be Valkyries as transports and Vultures as heavy support - these work like Blackhawks and Apaches in a modern US rapid deployment force. The models themselves are quite expensive, but well worth it as they are excellent kits. You could make your own though - I started a Valkyrie, and will get arond to finishing it soon - http://www.ageofstrife.com/gallery/Spack44
My own drop troop army has Sentinels, 2 Valkyries, 1 Vulture, and 1 Thunderbolt, along with Grenadiers as troops, Stormtroopers as elites, and a command squad with attached special weapon squads. I am however looking at using the Elysian D-99 list from Imperial Armour Volume 4 - this uses Veterans for troops, and breaks out special weapon squads into elite slots.
