KNIGHTS!

Postby Socaddict » Fri Mar 07, 2014 4:41 pm

So,

I have two knights so far, and I intend to turn them into a full blown army. Now, very obviously, their big weakness is a severe lack of AA, so I thought, why not bring in some allies? Wanting to minimise any additional purchases, I thought I'd look at what I mostly already had, and decided on these lists. Thoughts?

Don't see any reason why not.

Sorry Socaddict, I know like me, you would love to get some feedback on army composition from this forum like in the old days, but too many people who were into that kind of thing have moved on or are just not inclined to post anymore.

I like the line ups, and think it looks balanced, but I find theorising now is this game to be a little harder because GW have gone out of their way to make the game balanced in its complexity. There is no longer a leaf blower list to be had.

So your list looks balanced, and looks like it could be fun to play with. Let us know how you get on with it. :)

Unfortunately with the proliferation of options, there's simply no point in discussing army lists.

The game works well in a narrative setting with people who discuss what they're going to bring to a battle & play the game they want to play. If you're after an "all comers" list, or going to an "open" (i.e. non-comp) tournament, then the current game doesn't work. Every list will win against certain armies, and lose against other armies. Relative army build, or player skill simply doesn't come into it.

The closest thing you can get to a take all comers list in an evironment whwere anything goes is a titan, or at least as much Strength D as you can muster. If the other guy has a titan, and you don't, you lose.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on 40k at the moment:
http://www.3plusplus.net/2014/03/escala ... ce-things/

That's why I don't play 40k any more. I can't be bothered having a discussion on what to play every week - I want a game where I can turn up to a mates house, or a FLGS and play with the toys I have with me. That and 40k is currently very dull with random everything.
