hiya, to continue my groups training shedule..Ljundhammer has asked me to pull out something a bit grim from the tomes of Orkdom.
He's played against ork swarms (I have one of them) But now everything is "battlewagon this" and "nob biker that" so I thought I'd put something together just so my lot could tick another box and not just have their bowels fall out when they face it

I spent a few minutes on the web ..took bits and bobs I liked and that would be illustrative and made this (optimisations, views.. if anyone has Gavs scary list..that would be nice)

I think its 11 points over


Idea is just to give my chumlies (especially Mr6 who is a noob against anything other than deathwing and meq at the moment) A taste of what units can do..so this fulfils two spams at once (saving us wasting "trainging time" (we have fun..honest)
So warboss and bikes are fire and forget they chase the big stuff in an attempt to bring it down.. they max out on wound allocation cheese..so they don't need to remove whole models even after sustaining 7 or whatever unsaved wounds.
3 Battlewagons carry troops around the table(mostly as a wedge for perpetual cover save of better than landraiderdom).. can grab skimmers treat them as stationary and have a powerclaw charge out without ever having to get out.. Shooters from top means they have a fair anti horde potential (though not great).
And with some of the GT judges ruling that deffrollas may be used in ramming.. suddenly I've got 3d6str 10 attacks at landraiders on top of all those power claws etc..

So folks is this a fair representation of a GT ork mech list.(and of nob biker load outs?.(I think this one scares ljundhammer more than the space puppy one.. but thats still due an outing too)
If it fails to sicken you..do tell me if I should add some more rotting meat and venereal disease I want my peeps to be happy and as the scouts say be pre-pear-head :D

Can't help, sorry, still haven't played orks and only skimmed the book.
So speaking with the voice of ignorance, yet again, it looks fast and quite dangerous, but a few well placed heavy weapons could pop it like a balloon.

But, then again, we play with a ton of terrain and 4+ vehicle saves are pretty common.
I'll go and get a mug of water then, see if that changes things.

I'm just coming off a 30 hour fast..no idea whats up but anything I eat pretty quick I get a punch to the gut from the food goblins..
Proper punch, any food glass of water set it off, a segment of satsuma set it off.. so I'm adventuring into this thing you humans call eating this morning

I'm not sure about the lists, it seems to combine 2 armies into 1.

The best seems to be either battlewagon spam or nob biker spam, both seems take away from the advantages of both. The squads in the wagons look to be too small to really worry anyone.

I think that from my PoV, the multi-wagon list is more scarey. Gav gave me a good kicking last year with his. There was another that had 4 wagons. 1 with Gaz & 'terminator' nobs, the others with a butt-load of shooty/choppy boyz (I think about 18 in each). Are burner boyz any good, I keep hearing about them...

TBH, Nob bikers don't bother my DeathWing army too much.

And cause quite a spat in the ork tactics between krootman and meri going tooth and claw for a few pages.

If they have that guy that infiltrates behind you.. they are vicious, if you are scared of power weapons.. you just need to make sure they never charge you (or that your opponent is an idiot and flames you thus barring himself from using the power weapons- this can be done by provatactively forming your models into a perfect flamer shape) 3attacks on the charge WS4 (can waagh) int2 (+1furious charge)str 3(+1 furious charge)

So for you..if they get within 18..your looking to you Int4+ inflicting some wounds (6+ save is a joke thus balancing their 15 points each)
If they come on the back *you* will normally be in a landraider immune.

I believe that IF your LRs pop your infantry would be more scared of lucky lootas..as you can't really dodge them and 2+s fail under weight of fire

The squads in my list are just some soft squidy bits to put in the battle wagons similar to the DAVU eldar technique.
(for those who don't follow every tactica.. thats Dire avengers as vehicle upgrade (to scoring)..with the side benefit that they can attack you (shooty and hand to hand) whilst staying in their little tonks ! :lol:

Hmm, so them charging out of wagon is quite nasty then! Especially if they can fleet too...

Yeah Gav had a shed-load of them in his list, I cowered behind my Raiders, or was in combat. I don't think they shot me all game...

But that's not the strength of the Battle Wagon list. The whole point of the Battle Wagon is that it's an assault delivery system. If they survive after that it's a bonus. I'm not sure they are survivable enough against fast units to camp out on objjectives & they certainly don't kill enough to warrant it.

No, not really :lol: He had Gaz, a KFF, 3 wagons full of boys, another squad of boys, a load of lootas & a couple of deff copters from memory.

This is only the case in some situations.. e.g. in MR6 vs gav it was a who forced who out of tanks first..you don't want to assualt out..hence the super hidden fist that strike out at the vehicle its grabbed hold of without having to climb out.
