Nope - perfectly legal...see the "Multiple Unit Choices" section on page 92 :)

They count as separate units and so each can count towards the "up to two units from his Troops selection".

Steleks (from dakka) taken the sternguard droppods to an interesting place :D
Played using my shrike wing again on monday... it brought the pain...Highlights
Ljundhammer stole the initiative.. when I had the shrike lot ready to kill 2 vindies and lock in a squad turn 1. sniffle (as you can imagine the vindicator line turned and pointed at shrikes boys who were saved by the dice gods and intervening cover)

Ljundhammer lashed a (running away) assualt squad back towards him and into difficult terrain, rinse and repeat.. by the end of the game some members of the squad had taken 6 dangerous terrain tests.

I had to fire every single weapon at 3 blokes who'd gone to ground (sat on his flag) to win the match in the last few seconds (it was a very back and forth game)

Close combat dreadnoughts being able to kill 5 plus marines in a charge is messy.. but much more funny when raging the combi bolters on one monster dread took out his own lash prince.

I made my first rhino wall to deny table and I made it out of the enemies tanks
We got confuzzled by multiple combats that involved vehicles (without a WS) and worked out that everyone has to move in on the non vehicle opponents ( :? )
My list is harder now I dropped an assualt marine and added another fist :D
Man of the match, his dreadnoughts who even though they killed their boss sucked up my squads like nothing else could.

Ok combos that have come to my attention since last we “met”.
Scout biker with a melta bomb is ok, scout bikers with 3 astrates launchers (6str 6 shots then charging might be funny, 6 blasts scattering into a guard swarm is quite a hammer for the anvil)just make sure you can charge that tank and haven’t killed the “primary” target (primary as in the thing you shoot at that your non melta bomb guys go into tieing up and locking you into mildly more safety than sitting in the open.

Remember infiltrate then scout then shoot then follow up.. its not an either or.. use all of it to get to good points. Also note the sarge has a higher BS..give him the grenade launcher ("any biker")

Shrike infiltrating fleeting CC termies probably shouldn't be done :D
(Shrike fleeting dreadnoughts cannot be done :( )

From warseer
“Ironclad dreadnought w/ 2 heavy flamers, assault launchers, drop pod
+
3 Scout bikes w/ locater beacon, cluster mines, melta bombs= Nice”
Take only one pod and it comes down in your first turn.. so everyone must have 1 drop pods

Captain on bike with 2 squads bikesas troops (3man+attack bikex2) Can start from 395. (still not sure what to do with it) :?

Telion does have a purpose (it was hard working it out, at 73 points true costing) if put in a missile squad they can complement the scout bikers, setting up to get a BS6 ST8 shot on rear armour.. he can also be used to snipe out Ork warbosses, and other protected by ablative bling guys (Or mr farseer ) Unfortunately I still can’t justify the points myself.

The thunderfire cannon only really costs 25 points-you get a techmarine with servo harness + a big gun.. When you look at it like that it suddenly becomes a bit less poop.
You need a lot of assualty stuff to make folks stay back if your taking the conversion beamer.

A few lists just to promote discussion [Edit no conversation happened so I moved them to a thread on warseer ]
