3 Dark Eldar Battle Reports of the Kabal of Isha's Fall

Postby Galador » Fri Apr 29, 2011 4:53 am

Greetings, fellow Wargamers!!!! Well, as promised, I am here to post up my batreps. I unfortunately did not obtain exact lists from the Daemon player, but I do remember what the majority of his armies were, so we should be good on that. He runs a very specific army usually, and is still in the process of putting anything above 2k points together, so you will see in the second report alot of 40mm bases sitting on the table. I will do my best to remember what everything was, but the second one is actually the easiest battle report of them all, cause it only lasted for 2 turns!!! But now, onto the Domination by the Kabal of Isha's Fall!

Battle 1:
3,000 points of Chaos Daemons vs. 3,000 points of the Kabal of Isha's Fall.

Mission type: capture and control, 3 objectives

Deployment Type: Spearhead

I rolled the Pain Token for combat Drugs, which helped all the wyches and made the Hellions actually survivable for once!!

I won the roll to go first, Daemons failed to seize.

My Army List:
Code: Select all
HQs:
Lord Anean Kuagen (counts as Asdbrubael Vect)
Ancient Haemonculus w/ Webway Portal, Mindphase Gauntlet, and Liquifier Gun

5 Trueborn w/4 Blasters in a Venom with a 2nd Splinter Cannon
5 Trueborn w/4 Blasters in a Venom with a 2nd Splinter Cannon

Troops:
9 Wracks w/Acothyst, Liquifier Gun in a Raider w/Flicker Fields, Shock Prow, Chain Snares
15 Wych squad w/Hekatrix, Agoniser, 3 Hydra Gauntlets, Haywire Grenades
15 Wych squad w/Hekatrix, Agoniser, 3 Hydra Gauntlets, Haywire Grenades

Heavy Support:
Ravager w/Flicker Fields
Ravager w/Flicker Fields
Ravager w/Flicker Fields

Here is a picture of the full force, of course not alot of it is white, but enough is so that it is really noticable how much work have left to do just on my core force!! Far back left is my Bestmasters, Hellions, and Scourges. To their right was one of the 15 wych squads with the Haemy w/o WWP attached, in front of them was the three trueborn squads and one of the two Warrior Squads and their Venoms (the missing one was already deployed when I realized I hadn't gotten a pic of the force yet!). to the right of the center wych squad is the other 15 wych squad, all dressed in white to better see the blood as it flies!! Then top right is the 3 Ravagers, which ended up being half useless in this game, seeing as the whole army of Daemons has invul saves and EW, and he didn't run any Soul Grinders. Right below them, from left to right is Regular Haemy w/ WWP attached to 9 wych squad in their Raider, Then Lord Anean Kuagen attached to the 9 Bloodbride squad in their Raider (I'm sorry, but the Dais is not worth its points no matter the point value of the game!), and then the Ancient nestled in with his Wracks and their Raider on the far right. If you look closely, you will see that my Wracks are actually badly converted AoBR orks, with all the hands cut off and the Choppas put in their place for the two close combat weapons, and of course, where would any Dark Eldar unit be without its spikes, so they have plenty!!! And of course, they have old Warrior heads (mostly the ones with the god awful blown back hair on them!)

The Daemon Army list, from what I can remember:
Code: Select all
HQs:
Herald of Slaanesh on Chariot
Herald of Slaanesh on Chariot
The Masque
Skulltaker

Elites:
4 Bloodcrushers of Khorne
6 Fiends of Slaanesh
6 Fiends of Slaanesh

Troops:
20 Bloodletters of Khorne
20 Daemonettes of Slaanesh
10 Plaguebearers of Nurgle
10 Pink Horrors w/Changeling
10 Pink Horrors
10 Pink Horrors (he didn't have enough of them for this thrid squad and was going to use some of my old warriors, but ended up he had enough casualties by the time they came out that he didn't need my Warriors!)

Fast Attack:
5 Flesh Hounds of Khorne w/ Kharnak
4 Seekers of Slaanesh
10 Furies of Chaos

Heavy Support:
Daemon Prince
Daemon Prince
Daemon Prince

And a picture of his forces, remember that he is still assembling things, and painting, but for the most part everything he ran is there:
Left side is the 2 Charriots of tzeentch and 2 of the Daemon Princes, The Masque is standing by herself to their right, and below her is the squad of Pink Horrors w/ The Changeling. Top Center is the Bloodletters, then dead center is one of the Fiends of Slaanesh squads, and another Pink Horror Squad below them in the center. To their right are the Bloodcrushers of Khorne with Skulltaker, and above them, those bases are the second Fiends of Slaanesh squad. The white squad on the far right is the 20 Daemonettes squad, with Kharnak and the Hounds of Khorne abof them, and the Seekers of Slaanesh to their right. Above them, the Green thing is his WIP conversion of a Chaos Spawn into a Daemon Prince of Nurgle, and the Furies of Chaos squad. Then, farthest to the right is the PlagueBearers of Nurgle Squad.

Ok, on to deployment!!

It was a spearhead deployment, one of my most hated!! But, since it was Daemons and I know I would be wasting my first turn, I knew I had to make Deepstriking onto the Board as dangerous as possible for my opponent. I declared the one Haemy with no Portal to be attached to one of the 15 wych squads and staying in reserve, along with the other 15 wych squad, both coming on from the table edge. The Beastmasters and Beasts were also staying in reserve, walking on from the edge, and the Hellions and Scourges both stayed in reserve, declared to be Deep Striking. Everything else was deployed onto the board.

I placed all of the Venoms and Raiders directly up to the 12" line in my corner, so that first turn they would all be able to spread out on the board, drop their cargo if need be to drop Portals, or Flat Out for a 4+ cover, while moving into areas that were more open and without terrain to cut down the safe spots for units to come onto the board from Deep Strike.

The Daemon player, of course, deployed nothing as per his army's special deployment.

This is what the board looked like after Deployment, right before the Daemon player failed to Sieze the Initiative.
Image

Kabal of Isha's Fall Turn 1:

I proceeded to enact my strategy, spreading my forces out as much as possible to cover the board with alot of bad spots to Deeps Strike into, and alot of cover saves for all my Vehicles. So, with my Vehicles Flat-Outted, or moved to the positions I wanted to either hold objectives or drop WWPs, I disembarked the 9 wych squad and Haemonculus into cover on my right, and the 9 Wrack squad and Ancient Haemonculus next to a building on my left, then moved to my Shooting Phase and deployed the Portals in the middle of the board, both of them close to the two objectives that I had put down so that anything coming out of the Portal could contest or hold if need be. They were also in a good centralized location that would make it difficult for him to surround without wading through at least half of my army to get to them, and so that my reinforcements would be able to reach just about any combat on the board when they arrived.

This is what half the board looked like at the end of my Turn 1, and the beginnings of my opponent's first turn.
Image

The Jetbikes you see in the pictures were our 3 objectives.

Daemon Turn 1:

The chaos Gods were nice to him, and he got the half of his army that he wanted to come in. The picture above shows you the only large open area left on the board, on the far right of the picture. This was taken from the Daemon side of the board. The bloodletters that you see on my side would end up going down right in there on the first turn, and the Raider on the bottom right has Lord Anean Kuagen and his Bloodbrydes in it..... Hmmm, wonder what is going to happen on the Next Dark Eldar turn??   The Bloodletters come in, 2 of the 3 Pink Horror sqads come in and one of them had the Changeling, The Masque and the Changeling PH squad came in directly in front of my two Ravagers there, on the small hill, and he lost one horror to DT tests. One Daemon Prince comes in but Mishaps, rolls a 4, and I place him in the far right corner of the board, in Terrain for a test, which he passes, and well out of range of hurting anything for most of the game. Both of the Chariots came in on the far left corner back near my Ravagers, off screen from this picture, along with one of the two Pink Horror squads. The second Daemon Prince came in about 2" from the Board edge after scatter right below the Venom at the bottom left of the picture. And one of the two Fiends of Slaanesh squads scattered into Terrain about 10" to the left of the Venom at the bottom of the picture, and about 6" lower, putting them into terrain where they failed a DT test to take one wound.. His shooting, what little he had, didn't do much, his Daemon Princes and Chariots failed to get through 4+ cover or 5++ Flicker Fields to do anything to my Vehicles except for Wrecking one Venom with 5 Warriors in it, that was already sitting on an objective. The Masque then used the Pavane of Slaanesh to make the Ancient and his Wracks move, and he rolled a 6 for the inches, and pulled them out from behind the cover of the Raider that was between them and the Pink Horrors. He then shot the crap out of them, but that Toughness 4 on the Wracks helped keep alot of the wounds I would have recieved had they been wyches off, and I promplty went to Ground in order to get the 6+ cover save along with my Feel No Pain. I ended up losing a total of 4 Wracks, which was not bad seeing as he did around 12 wounds to the squad!

Kabal of Isha's Fall Turn Two:

I start rolling for reserves, and the 15 Wych squad w/o Haemy comes in, Hellions come in, Scourges come in, Beastmasters come in, last 15 wych squad w/Haemy doesn't come in. All in All, some really good reserve rolls! The Hellions jump out of the right side portal, and go to hide behind the building on the left, hoping that the Fiends will not make the charge in on their turn so that they can assault them next turn for the charge bonus.
Image

The 15 wych squad comes out of the left portal, sees the Pink Horrors and starts heading that way, while the Scourges fly out right over their heads to land on the far side of the terrain, and actually passed all of their DT tests for once!!! They are also eyeing the Horror Squad.... until they see The Masque hiding behind them!

The Beastmasters drive their Flocks and Khymarae from the right hand portal, and move across the Rocky Terrain on the Kabal's side of the board, heading for the Chariot of Tzeentch and Pink Horrors that are trying to take out the Ravagers.

Now for Regular movements. Lord Anean Kuagen and his Bloodbrydes' Raider moves 12" forward over the building, then they disembark and eye the 20 Bloodletters standing about 5" away, and start placing bets on who will take the most horns home with them! The Wyches that disembarked with the Regular Haemy move into cover toward the Daemon side, while keeping 2 wyches standing guard over the portal and the fallen Jetbike. The Warriors whose Venom had been Wrecked basically stood there and stared at the Wreckage, wondering how they were going to get back to Commoragh. The Ravagers skidded around to get a clear, unobstructed view of the Chariots of Tzeentch to lay some fire on them, and the Raider that had dropped off the Ancient and his Wracks decided that it didn't like where the Pink Horrors were standing, and helped them to move out of the way with a Tank Shock and Chain Snare Attack, while the Haemy and Wych's Raider decided to double the Chain Snare fun and hit the Horros and the Chariots (the second Chariot is behind the Raider in the middle!) Caused a wound on the unseen Chariot, and killed two of the Horrors, so the snares and shock prows just earned their addition back!
Image

The Venom on the Right moves up another 6" to make sure that the Fiends hiding in the rock Formation that might be able to get the Helions takes a bit of withering fire before the combat, while the Veonm on the Left sees a good opening to go after the Daemon Prince in the back and get itself a good cover save by hiding inside the building( it is actually on the bottom floor, it just wouldn't fit down there because of the sidesteps, so we set it on the space over it, as you will see in the after turn picture!)
Image

In the shooting Phase, the Scourges unloaded into the Masque, but Failed to cause a wound, the Wyches in front of the Horrors fleeted to make sure they were within range, along with the Beastmasters on the right side of the board, hoping they would be able to grab the Chariot and the Horrors in one assault. Lord Anean Kuagen tossed out his Obsidian Orb onto the Bloodletters, and rolled a scatter directly back at his unit, but luckily he is such an awesome shot with BS 8 that the 7 on the 2D6 meant nothing and it hit dead on target, and seeing as the bloodletters just landed, they took about 15 total hits, and about 7 wounds, resulting in 3 dying. The Venom in the building opened up on the Demon Prince in the back in terrain, along with the Dark Lance from Lord Anean Kuagen's Raider, but combined only caused 2 unsaved wounds. The Ravagers opened up on the Chariot of Tzeentch in the back corner, causing 4 wounds on 1, and the 5 man Warrior squad that would be walking home fired 8 splinter shots and one blaster into the other chariot, causing one wound. The Venom targeting the Fiends and the Trueborn inside opened up on the Fiends of Slaanesh, along with the Hellions, causing 3 to die and one wound on another. The last Venom and Trueborn opened up on the Demon Prince near the Fiends, causing 3 wounds.

Now, onto the fun part.... ASSAULT!!! The Beastmasters let the Khymarae off their leashes, and the Razorwings prepare to divebomb the enemy.... I roll 2D6 for my charge.... and get snake eyes!!! :x   So the beasts are stuck out of combat, but at least in cover!!

The 15 wych squad in the center rolls for terrain, and gets into combat with the Pink Horros and Changeling, and end up being able to B2B with The Masque as well. The Scourges must have been pissed about their shooting, because they decide to go for broke and try to assault The Masque as well! And they make the terrain roll!!! So now both the 15 wych squad and the 5 Scourge squad are locked in combat with both the Masque and the Pink Horrors. In between the Painted wych on the Left and the painted Scourge on the left, the unpainted model there is the Masque, and yes, that Scourge with just the wings painted is my Solarite model, but he was a regular sqourge for this battle, and yes, it is a Swooping Hawk exarch model, with a joint added into the wings, the points filed down on the feathers, and the second Archon head attached. Next step for it is to remove the gun and add in a blaster or Splinter cannon, and of course must put some spikes on it!!
Image

Lord Anean Kuagen and his Bloodbryde harem charge forward, Lord Anean Kuagen leading the way into the Bloodletters, while his Brydes are close behind!
Image

After the smoke and flashes from Plasma Grenades clear, all of the Bloodletters died by Lord Anean Kuagen and his harems hand, without getting a single attack back in return (god I love rolling 4's and 5's on Hydra Gauntlets!!),then consolidated into cover in order to have a save for next turns shooting, while the Masque claimed a Scourges life, and the Wyches beat the Pink Horrors into a nice looking pink paste!!! After losing that combat by 9 wounds, my Daemon opponent realized why I pulled the Masque into the combat also, as she died from having to take 9 Fearless wounds!! I rolled a random D6 for the second pain token, and it went to the Scourges, so now I had Scourges with FnP and the 15 wych squad gained Furious Charge!

Board at the end of Dark Eldar turn 2:
Image
The only things on the table that you can't see are the two Demon Princes, who are slightly out of the picture on the left side, which is the demon side of the board.

Daemon Turn 2:
My opponent had almost as good of reserve rolls as I did, with his Bloodcrushers and Skulltaker coming in, the other Fiend squad coming in, the Seekers coming in, The third Demon Prince coming in, and the Furies coming in. Skulltaker and his boys came in near the tower at the top of the picture above, while the other Fiend squad landed about 1" from off the board edge to the left of the building on the bottom left of the above picture. The Seekers landed in the building behind and to the left of Lord Anean Kuagen's Raider, and the furies landed in the ruined box/building in the front right corner of the picture above. The third Demon Prince landed to the right of the tower at the back of the board, directly behind the Ravager.

For movement, both Chariots and the Pink horrors moved as far away from the beasts as they could, trying to get shots on the rear armor of the Ravager near the tower at the back of the board. The three strong fiend squad moved up out of the terrain, headed for the Hellions, While the demon prince near Lord Anean Kuagen's Raider moved toward it to try and destroy it, and the other Demon Prince went after the Venom near the wyches that had hurt it so badly with its Cannons and Trueborn passengers last turn.

The shooting phase seems to be my opponents worst phase, as once again, all of the Chariots shooting was unable to hurt the Ravager they shot at, along with the Demon Prince (I'm telling you, that Ravager held out like IT was the Dias!!! ). The Pink Horrors opened up on the Raider that had flown over them to the back of the board last turn (the one without the Sail in the Tank Shocking picture.) and they managed to do enough glances to it that they destroyed its Dark Lance. The Demon Prince Shooting at the Venom destroyed one of its Splinter Cannons, and the Fiends, Furies, and Bloodcrushers all ran in order to spread out a bit. The 3 Fiend squad left fleeted to make sure they were within charge range, even if they had to go through terrain to get the Hellions(they didn't have to though.), and then we were done with his shooting and onto his assault.

In the Assault phase, the Fiends charged the Hellions, and the Demon Princes charged into the Venom and Raider. The Demon Prince against the Venom scored one hit, which penetrated, and the Venom failed its Flicker save, and the Daemon rolled a Weapon destroyed result, so the Venom was immobilized for the rest of the game.

The Demon Prince that went after Lord Anean Kuagen's Raider failed to hit, as it had moved 12" that turn and he needed sixes, and failed to roll any. The fiends charged into the hellions, but the Hellions had Initiative on them and got to swing first. Hellions ended up killing all the Fiends before they even got to swing (got some really lucky dice rolls on that one!!!), so the hellions now had Furious Charge and consolidated 3" toward the Bloodcrushers for next turn!

Kabal of Isha's Fall Turn 3:

Rolled for the last 15 wych squad and they came in, bursting through the right side portal toward Skulltaker and his minions...

In movement, the Hellions moved a full 12", spreading out and interlacing with the wyches that just came through the portal, moving as far toward Skulltaker and as close to the Chariots as they could, while the Beastmasters whipped their beast out of cover and after the Pink Horrors as they ran away. Just to make sure that SkullTaker and his Crushers would be close enough, the Raider with no Dark Lance left Moved Flat-Out and Chainsnared both Chariots, the Demon Prince, the Pink Horrors, and Skulltaker and his Crushers, coming to a rest on top of the back three Crushers, forcing my opponent to move them closer to my hellions and wyches to make room for the Raider. All told, that Raider accounted for a wound on the Demon Prince, 2 Pink Horrors, and a wound on a Crusher! Not bad for a paper Airplane waving spiky Paper Clips underneath it!!! :D The Ancient and his Wracks stood up and headed toward the Furies, hoping to finally get a chance to join the fray and partake in the bloodlust!!

Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem of Bloodbrydes moved out of terrain and toward the Demon Prince that had dared to attack his Raider, while the wyches and Haemy on the board behind the Venom moved forward to grab the Seekers and Demon Prince.

Shooting Phase saw alot of fleet, and all the Ravagers opening up on Skulltaker and the Chariots, but all of them failed to wound anything!!!(massive amount of great saves by my opponent!!) The Beasts fleeted, as did the 15 wych squad and the Hellions, in order to ensure maximum carnage in the assault.

Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem fleeted, as they were just a bit outside of charge range for the Demon Prince. hat my opponent had used up all his good saving throws as he rolled a one and the final wound was done to that Prince, and he returned to the warp!!! The Ancient and the Wracks used their Liquifier Guns on the Furies, killing 4 of them and making the proposition of a charge seem less likely as my opponent snatched the front 3 off of the board.

The wyches near the Venom Fleeted towards the Seekers, while the Haemy opened up with his Liquifier Gun, causing a wound on the Demon Prince with an AP of 6, not that it matters to Daemons!! Then it seemed that my opponent used up all his good rolls on the Chariots and Skulltaker, as the Demon Prince rolled a 1 for his saving throw, and was sent screaming back to the Warp!

Onto the fun phase, ASSAULT!!!!

Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem charged into a ready and waiting Demon Prince, while the Ancient and his Wracks failed to make it over the wall of the ruin to assault the Furies. The wych squad near the immobilized Venom made it into assault with the Seekers, charging into the building to hopefully rip them to shreds!

Then, the master plan of Lord Anean Kuagen was revealed as the Wyches charged into Skulltaker and His Crushers, while the Beastmasters drove their Beasts into combat next, grabbing the Pink Horrors and the Other Chariot, while the Hellions sealed the deaths of all the daemons, by getting into combat with the Demon Prince, both Chariots, and the Bloodcrushers!!! Was about to be quite a fight!!!! Sorry for the horrid quality on the following picture, I was quite excited and didn't take a second shot!!  This shot was also taken halfway through the fight, when I realized this would be an epic assault that needed to have a picture taken!!!
Image

Instead of going count by count in this battle of epic proportions (I rolled well over 100 dice before he even rolled one for attacks!!!) I will simply post up a picture that should sum it up completely:
Image

That's right, the only demon that lived after all was said and done was Skulltaker!! That is him in the middle of the Hellions and wyches, the beast are at the top of the pic, but were so far away, they couldn't make it into consolidation!!! Notice on the right all the pain Tokens?? The Beastmasters and their beasts all killed the Pink Horrors and both chariots by themselves, so they went from no tokens to fearless in one assault, along with the extra tokens for the Hellions and the wyches! Too bad the beasts can't use the tokens, but at least the beast masters became semi decent now!! The Hellions then did their Hit and Run, and rolled 13" on 3D6, to put them back right next to the Wrecked Raider and Warriors, who were still standing there wondering how they were going to get home....

The wyches vs the fiends near the immobilized Venom tied combat and stood there with them for another two turns as they slowly played with the fiends, teasing out their deaths and enjoying every second of it, while Lord Anean Kuagen defeated the Demon Prince in solo combat while his harem stood by, ready to assist if needed. Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem then consolidated next to his Raider, in order to move elsewhere on the battlefield if needed!

Was a great Assault phase for the Dark Eldar!!!

Daemon's Turn 3:

Reserves rolls: The last pink horror squad comes onto the board, the 20 Daemonettes come onto the board, the Flesh Hounds hit the board (demon player made me almost shoot Coke out my nose when he called them "Khorne" Dogs!!!  ) and the Plaguebearers still sit in reserve and tell the rest of the Daemons, "Why should we hurt them? They do Papa Nurgle's work with their poisons!!"

The Daemonettes hit the board right behind the 15 wyches and Scourge squad that are standing in the cover in the center of the Dark Eldar Deployment zone, the same ones that fought the Masque and pink horrors earlier. The Pink Horrors attempt to come on to the right side, in between all the Ravagers, but end up scattering a full 12" to the left, coming to rest a little more than 1" away from the Daemonettes (which worked out really bad for him next turn!!!) The "Khorne Dogs" land near Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem, causing him to rethink his plans of mounting up when he has such fun playthings just randomly appearing for him right here!!!

For Movement, the Furies moved forward 8" toward the Ancient and his Wracks, losing 2 to DT tests and failed invuls. The other Fiends of Slaanesh snuck up behind Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem while they were concentrating on the "Khorne Dogs" (I'm sorry, its still really funny to me! :D )

For shooting, the Daemonettes ran in order to spread out a bit, and the Pink Horrors tried to run and put some distance between themselves and the Daemonettes, because my opponenet was trying not to get multi assaulted again, so at east he was learning my strategy!! (It didn't work out for him though, as you will see my next turn! ) The Fiends Fleeted to make sure they could charge Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem, and then we were on to ASSAULT again!!!

Assault phase, the wyches finished off Skulltaker, and them and the Beasts consolidated, the Wyches toward the Hellions and the Beasts down back to the same cover they had just left!

The wyches playing with the Seekers in the building finished them off, and just stayed where they were, content to wander the destroyed halls for the rest of the engagement...

The Furies charged the Ancient and his Wracks, and proceeded to get beat into the ground, although they did put a wound on the Ancient and take 4 of the 7 remaining Wracks with them as they went down!!

The Fiends of Slaanesh charged Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem, only to discover that the Lord knew of their presence the whole time, as he ruthlessly and effortlessly cut down two of them himself, and his harem finished off all but one of them, who then took one Bloodbryde out before it died from Fearless saves.

Kabal of Isha's Fall Turn 4:

Movement: Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem moved towards the "Khorne Dogs", while the Beasts moved through terrain down toward the Pink Horrors and Deamonettes. The 15 wych squad from the Skulltaker fight moved two secure the objective along with the Warriors, while the other 15 wych squad moved forward to engage the Daemonettes. The Hellions, now down to 7, moved down to engage the Daemonettes also. The Ancient and his Wracks moved into the building with the Venom to hold the Objective there. once again, the raider that had been just ripping everyone up moved Flat-out to pass over both the Daemonettes and the Horrors, killing 3 Daemonettes and 1 Horror. God, I am loving Chain Snares now, I have never had them work this well!!! Or maybe that should be I have never had a Raider with them last this long???

In the shooting phase, the Venom and Trueborn in the building near the objective shot at the "Khorne Dogs", killing only one of them after some great cover saves by my opponent. The Hellions fired their splinter pods at the Horrors, whittling them down to only 4 left, and thankfully still within charge range!

The Beasts fleeted, making sure they were within charge ranges of the Daemonettes and Pink Horrors, while the wyches fleeted just to be 1" away from the Daemonettes and completely out of terrain for the coming assault!

The Assault Phase saw Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem charge in and cut down Kharnak and his "Khorne Dogs" without a loss, while the wyches charged in and grabbed the Daemonettes and Pink Horrors, while the Hellions charged in and did the same. The beasts made it in on the other side of both, with the Razorwings swooping up under the hull of the Raider to attack the Daemonettes, forming a triangle of death around the Daemonettes and Horrors that would know only one outcome: Total Annihilation!!!
Image

I know it is a bit difficult to tell with all the white models in there, but basicallt if it is inside the wych line, which is back near the terrain on top, or to the left of the Painted hellions, or above the Raider, and isnt't on a flying base or a large base, then it is a Deamonette or Pink Horror!

The next picture shows you what the results of this battle were after the dust had settled:
Image
This should show you much better where my lines in the engagement were, as this was before any consolidation moves had been made!! Just to note, all of the white models you see now, are all mine! There are no Daemons left in this picture!!

This next picture is a picture of the majority of the board at the end of the Kabal's turn (ignore the Pink Horrors on the bottom right, they are the casualties from the last battle, and haven't been put away yet, they have just been removed from combat!):
Image

Daemon Turn 4:

The PlagueBearers finally decide to join the fight, Deep Striking in to the exact same spot that the Bloodletters landed at in Turn 1, right in front of Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem!!! Seeing as these were all that the Daemon player had left, he then ran them as far AWAY from Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem as he could in the shooting phase, getting a really good 5" from his Run Roll. That was the extent of the Daemon Players turn 4!!

Kabal of Isha's Fall Turn 5:

Well, seeing as the only thing left on the board for my opponent was the Plaguebearers, and I was holding all three objectives with trops, and had vehicles close enough to all of them to contest all just in case a miracle happened, I asked my friend if he wanted to continue or if he wanted to call it here. His answer made my heart swell with pride, knowing that he was a young officer in the U.S. Army, and I hope that he carries his response with him to every unit he goes to, and uses it well for both him and his soldiers: "I never quit til I'm dead!" So we continued on with Turn 5!!!

Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem moved toward the Plaguebearers, and then skipped shooting them altogether to launch their assault! (In Hindsight, things would have been a bit different, or at least maybe a bit faster if I had shot them first, but oh well, it worked out for the best anyway!)

Lord Anean Kuagen Swung and took out three of the Plaguebearers at the Start of the assault, and then his harem cut down 2 more. The Plaguebearers swung back, causing two wounds on Lord Anean Kuagen and two wounds on his harem, but the harem was fine, while Lord Anean Kuagen finally failed his Shadowfield save and took his first wound!!! Yeah, he was not happy with the 5 Plaguebearers that were left (Do they NOT know how much a Shadowfield COSTS?!?  ) The Plaugebearers then proceeded to do exactly as expected, and pass all of their saves or FnP rolls for the Fearless saves, leaving 5 of them locked in combat with Lord Anean Kuagen and his harem.

Daemon Turn 5:

Straight to the ASSAULT PHASE!!! Just how I like it!!

Lord Anean Kuagen swings, cutting down two more of the Plaguebearers, while his harem once again takes down two, leaving a single Plaguebearer vs. these mighty foes! The Plaguebearer swings at Lord Anean Kuagen , hits, wounds!...... and Lord Anean Kuagen promptly rolls a 3!!! so that is two wounds on Lord Anean Kuagen now, and the Plaguebearers have once again lost combat, this time by 3 instead of 4, so the lone Plaguebearer left takes 3 wounds, fails one... and then promptly rolls a 6 for his FnP... now I know how my opponents feel when my wyches just won't die thanks to FnP!!!!

The following picture is a picture of the important part of the board at the end of turn 5:
Image

That poor, poor Plaguebearer!!!!

I ask my friend if he wants to roll for a turn 6 or not, and he rolls a die, and gets a 5.... this man is relentless!!!!!

Kabal of Isha's Fall Turn 6:

Yeah plain and simple, Lord Anean Kuagen shoved his Sceptre of the Crystal Fields into bad places over and over again until the Plaguebearer finally didn't stand up anymore..... and the Daemon's were finally Tabled after 5 1/6 turns!!(we only did one phase in Turn 6, hence the 1/6th!)

Finally tally was:

Kabal of Isha's Fall objectives: 3 of 3

Daemon Objectives: 0 of3

Kabal of Isha's Fall Kill Points: 20 (his entire army)

Daemon's Kill points: 1 (the Venom he Wrecked on Turn 1)

Kabal of Isha's Fall Victory Points: 3,000

Daemon's Victory Points: 133 (1 wrecked venom, one Venom with no cannons left, and once Raider with no Dark Lance left)

All in all it was a great game, and even my opponent, although he got his butt handed to him, had a great time and made the even quite a laugh!!! The whole time, while he was getting down about losing so badly, I just kept reminding him of things in the past that his Daemon's had done to my Dark Eldar, like when he turned Lord Anean Kuagen into a Chaos Spawn, which then proceeded to beat on the 9 Trueborn that had been accompanying him for 3 more turns until it finally killed the last one!

In the end though, Lord Anean Kuagen and the KAbal of Isha's Fall returned to the Crystal Fields of Commoragh to implant the Daemon's into the Torture crystals with the other souls, and listen as they run rampant through the Guadrsmen, Space Marines, Space Wolves, Eldar, and Chaos Space Marines trapped within... awaiting the day that they will be drawn from the crystals to be consumed to ensure the prosperity and longevity of Lord Anean Kuagen!!!!!

I will post up the other two battle reports in separate threads tomorrow, as it is now almost midnight and I wanna go to sleep!!! hope you enjoy the Battle Report, and feel free to ask questions or make any comments!!!

~The End (FINALLY!!!)

Ok, time for round two!!!! I unfortunately did not have time to take many pictures of this battle, as we were going really fast trying to get at least two turns in before the store closed, so all I really got was deployment and the start of my reserves entering the table. However, it was quite an exciting battle, as we decided to do a few things different than normal for one last blast before I left:

1)Threw the Daemon's special deployment rules out the window and he deployed normally just like me, in a Pitched Battle Annihilation setup.
2) Threw the Force Org out the window if needed to run the baddest armies that we could!
3) Ran almost pure assault armies, with minimal to no shooting in each!

Now then, first my list, and then his!

Kabal of Isha's Fall ally The Coven of the Crystal Shard Army List 3,000 point army:

Code: Select all
HQs:
Master Haemounculus Drein Kles (counts as Urien Rakarth)
Ancient Haemonculus w/WWP, Liquifier Gun
Ancient Haemonculus w/WWP, Liquifier Gun
Haemonculus w/Liquifier Gun
Haemonculus w/Liquifier Gun
Haemonculus w/Liquifier Gun

Elites:
10 Grotesques w/ Drein's (Urien's) Strength Upgrade
10 Grotesques w/ Drein's (Urien's) Strength Upgrade
10 Grotesques w/ Drein's (Urien's) Strength Upgrade

Troops:
9 Wracks w/Liquifier Gun in a Raider w/Flicker Fields and Disintegrator Cannon
9 Wracks w/Liquifier Gun in a Raider w/Flicker Fields and Disintegrator Cannon
10 Wracks w/Liquifier Gun
10 Wracks w/Liquifier Gun
10 Wracks w/Liquifier Gun
10 Wracks w/Liquifier Gun

Heavy Support:
Talos Pain Engine w/Chain-Flails and 2nd CCW
Talos Pain Engine w/Chain-Flails and 2nd CCW
Talos Pain Engine w/Chain-Flails and 2nd CCW

Now, I had to proxy the majority of this list in order to run it, but hey, we always like to have fun, so my regular elites (Incubi, Mandrakes, etc.) were used as Grotesques. And just to make it a bit of a jaw-dropper, those three Grotesque squads made up almost half of my points cost!!! It was 1200 POINTS!!!! for those three squads..... but man were they worth it!!

Daemon List:

Code: Select all
HQs:
FateWeaver
BloodThirster

Elites:
6 man Bloodcrusher squad
6 man Bloodcrusher squad
6 man Bloodcrusher squad

Troops:
20 Man Bloodletter squad
20 Man Bloodletter squad
20 Man Bloodletter squad

Fast Attack
Flesh Hounds of Khorne w/Kharnak

Heavy Support:
Daemon Prince of Khorne
Daemon Prince of Khorne
Daemon Prince of Khorne

Deployment was Pitched Battle.

Mission type was Annihilation!
Rolled a 6 on the D3 for Drein's tokens, so my entire army except for the Talos started the game with Fell No Pain and Furious Charge!!

Daemon player won the role to go first and lined everything in the center as close to 12" in as he could and everything as close to FateWeaver as he could.

I know there are alot of things out there that don't look like what they are, but remember, we both put together a massive assault list and proxied where it was needed, and when we were playing, it was not that hard to tell what was what, because it was all either REALLY KILLY or EVEN MORE KILLY!!!

The Coven of the Crystal Shard's Deployment:
Image
Yep, that's right, I hid like a little girl!!!! Hey, you would too if you saw that many Daemon's of Khorne already on the table coming after you!!!! No, but seriously, I knew he was going to move toward center and so was I, so I just needed to make sure that FateWeaver couldn't reach my Raiders on the first turn to possibly pop them and prevent me from dropping my Portals where I wanted them, which was DEAD CENTER ON THE LINE!!

I rolled to Sieze the Initiative and failed.

Daemon turn 1:
He moved everything forward as far as it could through terrain, and kept everythign he could within 6" of FateWeaver.

His Shooting Phase he attempted to hit with FateWeaver, but was out of range, and then ran anything forward that could or needed to, while still staying within the 6" of FateWeaver.

Coven of the Crystal Shard's Turn 1:
Both Raiders moved forward 12", and the Ancients and their Wracks Disembarked as far forward as possible.

In the Shooting Phase, both Ancients dropped their Portals.

Assault found the lead Bloodletter pack on the right to be within Range of the Wracks, so we charged into them and had us the start of the brawl!!!

After all was said and done, I think 4 Bloodletters and 4 Wracks each died, so it was a tied combat. The other Wrack Squad and Ancient were stuck as they were 1/2" out of range, but were at least in cover!

Daemon turn 2:
The whole army moves forward, while the Bloodcrushers on the right move toward the assault to lend a hand. Hes front suads move and run as far as possible, trying to surround my Portals, but he doesn't get them fully surrounded and my reserves make it in next turn.

In Assault, the Bloodcrushers and a second Bloodletter squad join the fray, and after all is said and done, 3 Daemons died, while every Wrack was destroyed and the Ancient had one wound left. Ancient rolls SNAKE EYES! He stays in combat for the next turn.

Coven of the Crystal Shard's Turn 2:
Rolled for reserves, and two of the Three Grotesques squads came in, all three Talos came in, and all 4 Wrack Squads came in. The only Grotesque Squad that didn't come in was the one that Drein Kles was attached too!!

Movement saw everything brursting from the two Webway Portals, covering as much ground as possible in order to set up something ralley, really nasty for the Assault Phase!!

I did nothing in shooting because I was barely in Range for my assaults for some things, and I didnt want to jeopardize the plan that I was going for!

In the Assault Phase, I moved the Talos First. One went after the Bloodthirster, one went after a Daemon Prince, and the Third went after FateWeaver. That done, the Grotesques moved next. One squad grabbed up two Bloodcrusher squads, a Daemon Prince, and Fateweaver. The Other Squad made it into one of the Bloodcrusher squad that the first got to, got into it with the Bloodthirster, and grabbed the two Bloodletter squads on the left. Now it was the Wracks turn. Before I moved them, I looked at my deamon buddy and asked him if he know what I was going for, and he said yeah, your trying to kill as much as possible. I told him to just watch and look at the battlefield as a whole, and let me know when he realized it.

I moved the first wrack squad on the left into the last Daemon Prince that was unengaged and chained into one of the bloodletters the Grotesques were attached two and the flesh hounds Flesh Hounds. The second Wrack Squad bundled into the Bloodthirster, A Bloodletter Squad, and FateWeaver. The Third one Grabbed the Bloodcrushers on the right, and made it into the already engaged assault around the Ancient, and at this point I heard one word come out of my friend's mouth, and I dont think I can put it up here, so suffice it to say it was a very bad word!!! I asked what was wrong, and his response was,"Your evil!!" I smiled and told him," YUP!! That's why I play Dark Eldar!!!" And proceeded to charge the last Wrack Squad into the combat that the Ancient was already in.

If my description was a bit too vague, I will clear it up hear really fast. It was the bottom of turn two, and I had just engaged the entirety of both armies on the board into a single assault!!! Every one of my units had multi assaulted just perfectly in order to chain every single unit on the board into one combined, massive, all out knock down, drag out bar brawl!!!

Why would I do this, you ask??? Remember your assault rules, and remember that all Daemons are Fearless!!!!

So, if you remember what I said earlier, almost my entire army had started with both FnP and FC, right?? Which meant that everything except for the Taols swung at Initiative 5, so only the Bloodthrister and Daemon Princes got to swing at the same time I did, but he wasn't able to deny me any of my attacks!!!!

All told, at I5, I ended up rolling 249 attacks at I5, with 120 of them being Strength 7!!! After rolling to hit, and then wound, I came away with 58 unsaved wounds!! Needless to say, he was NOT happy about that!!! His wounds back were not that great, but he did put 3 wounds on each Grotesques squad, and about and 10 Wracks died. Then we went to I4, and he got to reap his return.... somewhat.

At I4, my Talos got to swing.... and they each had chain flails so they rolled two dice and took the highest. I ended up with 2 of them with 6's and one with a 5, so I had two Taloi doing 8 attacks each, and one doing 7. The Bloodthirster went down, as did the Daemon Prince, and Fateweaver was reduced to one wound but made all his leadership saves to not run away. So my total wounds for this gigantic battle was 76 unsaved wounds!!! Not bad if I do say so myself!!

But then his Bloodcrushers and Bloodletters that were left got to swing, and they did just what they are supposed to do, and they started hurting my wracks badly!
When he had finished swinging, he had caused a total of 38 unsaved wounds, bringing his total for the combat to 51..... which meant I had won the combat massively!!!!

And like I said earlier, all Daemons are Fearless, and since it was one giant assault, each of the remaining units had to take 25 Fearless saves each!!!

Yeah, it was not pretty.... ok who am I kidding, it was FRIGGIN BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

So, after all Fearless saves had been rolled and all models removed..... The Daemon was Tabled!!! Yet another massive win for the Dark Eldar!!!!

It was an awesome game that I got extremely lucky in due to positioning and lack of terrain, and I doubt I could replicate it again anytime soon, but it was so much fun!!! Even my Daemon Friend was having a great time as we tried to sort out who was hitting who, and which attacks were which, and which one had died!!!

Hope you enjoyed this Batrep, and I will post up my last battle sometime later tonight or tomorrow!!!
