DEATHWING vs Bloodhammer in 6thSit back and enjoy content..
Mission, capture the relic/football thing, conventional 12” in setup, night fighting.
We both got the +1 to charge range warlord trait.
Game only lasted 90 minutes(+ smoke breaks)… fastest game thus far.
1850 ish.I had

3x10 assualt squads 2 melta power fist
5 man ASM in drop pod with melta gun
Scouts cloaks missile melta bomb.

Problems- He had 99 problems but deathwing wasn’t one. (well as previously mentioned in other batreps.. he has gone from 5-6 denial units to 3 units.)
Remember where you see termie= thundernator.. where you see a dreadnought= donkeycannon dread.
Ljundhammer goes first, I fail to seize the initiative.
Turn 1He moves forwards gets the ball moves back a bit and shoots me.—oww.
I send my bikes up flanks, scouts stay so hidden you can’t actually see themin any photo till turn 5 but they are hiding on the FARFAR right. My pod lands 4”s off.. but I make it intodouble dice range.. nothing, just impacted on the surface..(stay back for your attack run red leader!!!) Lasplas and riflemen take out his assault cannon dreadnought.. first blood to me.
I fail to make charge range, Don’t forget that’s with the +1, I really rolled pitifully.
But at least I killed the guy holding the ball.(dropped/fumble crowd goes wild)
Turn2 Its on now chaps.. He shoots my bikes..but they still stand (true T5)..he makes the charge I could not..
Can you spot the 600 point difference between these two pictures?My turn 2 I send in my 3rd assault squad into a weakened termie squad (lots of point blank melta to the face first.I either draw or lose combat to 2 thundernators.. shucks.
TURN 3 He brings his left hand termie squad back (ignoring the bikes teasing him).. into the giant combat on the ball.. his dreadnought takes out the distraction pod guys
He also sends in a squad to take out my right flank MM bikes
I'm melting I'm melting, oh what a world!! (LH reminds me that having been locked in unpleasant combat all this time I could have opted to fall back..like the grated cheese brain I am, I see nothing wrong with this and so opt to fail and fall back)... (WRONG CODEX RULES!!!!)

And this is me regrouping (kisses arse of bloke who got rid of chasing mechanics) moving off to the far right and taking out a landraider, whilst the bikes swoop in from the left and take out the other.. the laspreds take out a few termies.. 1 very brief turn..about 700 points of his army melted.. Its so sudden he doesn't notice the game has changed at all.(melta guy tops himself in the resulting inferno.. V fluffy.. but I've got to stop sniping out my own melta constantly if I want to do anything in 6th ed)
TURN4Oh he Mad now. Sends squad back to deal with the bikes (behind the chimney) sends a squad to deal with the ASM who took out the raider.. and battle of the warlords is down to bare bones.
Naturally he wins all the combats(slay the warlord to him).. but oooh look, isn't he light on the ground now.. and he still hasn't spared a unit to actually PICK UP THE BALL.
I sit back and shoot with the 2 laspreds, the rifleman and the scouts (who are slowly thinking about heading towards the middle..maybe.
TURN5 He shuffles his squad forwards to get the ball but also stay near cover..
I take down belial and the guy holding the ball (closest)..with wall of shots ..inc the scouts moving and shooting with 6s
Ball is a FUMBLE no 3 points anywhere..
End turn 5 I roll a dice it’s a 2
Game end
I win 2:1 (first blood (that dreadnought remember..and slay the warlord vs Slay the warlord).
We didn’t see that coming.
(we both thought I was toast at the end of turn1/deployment and him going first with ball)
I owe it to..distractions.. and apparently LH could have done some horrific consecutive passing thing some blog taught him, but I didn't understand.
