The Pharaoh's Scorpions vs Space Marines
When they saw the light of the Pharaoh, the chapter formerly known as the Emperor's Scorpions became outcasts and were immediately hunted by the treacherous Inquisition and Space Marine chapters loyal to the corpse-emperor.
After skirmishes with the Imperial Guard, Tyranids, Blood Angels and the Thousand Sons Chaos Space Marines, the loyalist Ultramarines caught up with the Scorpions on an uncharted jungle world.
The two armies prepared to engage in the midst of an abandoned temple complex within the thick jungle.
While the Ultramarines marched onto the battlefield in ordered ranks, bearing plenty of heavy and special weapons, the Scorpions tried to make use of the terrain and intended to flank their former brothers through the thick jungle.
While most of the Ultramarines set up their heavy weapons, three squads of Terminators moved forward, laying down a deadly hail of fire with their assault cannons and storm bolters, which splintered trees, exploded the wildlife that was too slow to evacuate the area of the battle, and finally found its target in the Devastator squad of Sergeant Buck, which had been given the dangerous but vital task of holding the centre of the battlefield.
Brother Skully, carrying a blessed heavy bolter, was the first to fall to the deadly weapons of the advancing terminators. Brothers Squee and Stumpy died mere seconds before assault cannon fire ripped Sergeant Buck's tinny supply apart.
Yelling a vile curse, Buck ran towards the terminators, but his bolt pistol shots harmlessly pinged off the resiliant tactical dreadnought armour and he was gunned down by a salvo of storm bolter fire.
The other five brothers of squad Buck tried to avenge their brethren, but before brother Gleeman was able to fire his potent plasma cannon at the squad that had killed his sergeant and comrades, high explosive missiles streaked towards him from one of the ruined temple buildings and annihilated him and his squad mates.
A second squad of Ultramarine which had taken cover behind some rubble chose this moment to open fire on Veteran Squad Sliver with their heavy bolters.
Before Veteran Sergeant Sliver could order his battle brothers into cover, three of the five marines fell, including brother Cirventhor. Enraged, Sliver and his remaining battle brother ran forward, cutting a way through the thick jungle with their lethal close combat weapons.
Seconds later, the Whirlwind Tank "Her Wrath", which had taken position behind a ruined building, flanked by a combat squad and Wolfleaders Predator Annihilator and accompanied by Techmarine Hobbes, opened fire with his multiple missile launcher. The missiles were carried off course by strong winds and deviated from their inteded target, but the resulting explosion still killed one Ultramarine.
Wolfleader opened fire on the Ultramarine Terminators, who lost a sergeant to the twin-linked lascannon normally used to blow up heavily armoured tanks.
In a desperate gamble to break the enemy lines, a veteran squad of Scorpions in terminator armour teleported on the field of battle behind enemy lines. Accompanied by Librarian Morbo, the brave battle brothers said their prayers to the emperor, hoping that the machine spirit of the teleport array would calculate their jump precisely, so that they would not materialize within the solid rock of one of the many temple ruins.
The old machine spirit accomplished its task perfectly and the six terminator-armoured warrious reappeared right behind the enemy line. Opening fire with their storm bolters, they felled one opposing terminator, scoring nothing but deep gashes in the thick ceramite armour of the others.
Then brother Drasius opened up with his assault cannon, and two more Ultramarine Terminators fell.
Realizing that their fire had not brought down a sufficient number of foes and seeing how roughly a dozen Terminators turned to face the new threat, brother Librarian Morbo drew upon his psychic powers, calling forth a mighty torrent of fire to melt the resiliant terminator armour and burn the warriors within.
The ancient temples had however been a holy temple of Tzeentch in ages long past, and the wall between the temple site and the immaterium was very thin. Several daemons were drawn into the real world by Morbo's display of psychic power, and proceeded to attack him viciously. Barely able to banish the daemons, Morbo lost his grip on the power he had accumulated and he was unable to focus it on the terminators - since he was able to prevent a lethal backlash, it evaporated harmlessly.
Massed fire by three Terminator squads, four tactical squads, two devastator squads and a landspeeder brought the valiant brothers that had teleported behind enemy lines down one by one, until only Morbo, protected by a forcefield he had thrown up, stood facing the immense torrent of fire. Distracted by a daemonic entity, his concentration faltered, and his torso took a glacing hit by the landspeeder's multimelta - crippled by this horrific wound, he collapsed to the ground, losing his grip on his force staff.
The Ultramarines Chaplain calmy stepped up to him and executed Morbo with a blast of his storm bolter.
Meanwhile, the combat squads and the command squad of Company Master Bernhard had overestimated the progress they could make through the thick jungle and had no other choice but to listen to the frantic vox status reports of their brothers.
Venerable brother Menigal and Assault Squad MadjackMcJack finally circled the hated Ultramarines and opened fire. The dreadnought brought down several of the loyalist lapdogs with his assault cannon and proceeded to run towards the Ultramarines lines while MadJack's battle brothers took down several marines with concentrated bolt and plasma pistol fire.
On the left flank, Wolfleader's Predator Annihilator was shaken by several glancing hits, before an assault cannon round pierced an already weakened point in its armour, detonation the munitions stored within the venerable vehicle. Techmarine Hobbes could do nothing but say a prayer for the ancient machine spirit of the vehicle.
In perfect coordination with the fire that had taken out the Predator, which could obviously no longer cover the whirlwind tank, a squad of assault marines engaged their jumppacks, intending to take out Hobbes and the combat squad that accompanied him, before destroying the exposed whirlwind tank.
They had however not anticipated the fierce resistance Techmarine Hobbes would put up. While the combat squad around him fell to searing plasma blasts and whirring chainswords, Hobbes ripped the attackers apart with his inhumanly strong servo arms and shot his opponents point blank with his plasma cutter, while he burned another assailant with his fusion torch. Taking vengeance for the destruction of the venerable vehicle, he killed the assault marine sergeant with his power axe in a duel in which his opponent never stood a chance.
Seeing the huge dreadnought Menigal advance towards them, the tactical squads at the centre of the Ultramarines' line frantically opened fire. Several of the plasma guns (which they had brought to best the armour of the Scorpions) overheated and inflicted deadly wounds that felled even the tough space marines.
Dozens of lascannon shots ringed off Menigal's thick armour and even when a rocket blew up his assault cannon arm, he charged further forward. A skilled Ultramarine moved into a good firing position and took careful aim at the slightly exposed reactor core, detonating the ancient dreadnought in a blinding explosion.
Enraged at the loss of their beloved venerable battle brother, who had been an endless source of wisdom, one of the combat squads, which had finally broken through the thick flora, gunned down the squad that had cost the Scorpions so dearly, while assault squad MadJackMcJack descended on another tactical squad, of which they quickley disposed, before proceeding to butcher the next squad in line.
As Veteran Sergeant Sliver and his lone remaining brother emerged from the forest to join the fray, all the unengaged Ultramarine squads opened fire on them.
Sliver's battle brother fell almost instantly, but Sliver withstood the rain of high-explosive bullets for almost a minute, until his ruined power armour finally was no longer able to protect him from the high calibre impacts.
When the command squad of Chapter Master Bernhard and the other remaining combat squad emerged from the jungle at last, they were similarly greeted by a hail of bullets.
The combat squad was wiped out and apothecary Chris was barely able to save the life of company champion Vorpal.
Seeing that the this fight was lost, Master Bernhard ordered the Scorpions' battle barge to lay a covering fire with their lance batteries and the Scorpions gathered their wounded and slain and disengaged from the battle.
With any luck, the powers of the Pharaoh would resurrect their fallen brethren and they would exact bloody vengeance on the corpse emperor's Imperium.

The Pharaoh's Scorpions vs Die himmlische Garde (Tau)
Retreating into unknown regions of space, The Pharaoh's Scorpions encountered a colony of the aliens who call themselves the Tau.
The xenos scum refused to bow before the Pharaoh and claimed that the Scorpions should join their vile xenos empire, for the greater good! THERE IS NO GREATER GOOD THAN THE PHARAOH!
Enraged, the Scorpions cut down the water caste negotiators with their boltguns and chainswords, before landing troops on the colonized planet.
The weakling xenos prepared their advanced weaponry and gathered to resist the righteous wrath of the Scorpions.
The two forces met head on in the outskirts of an abandoned town, where forests, rocky hills and ruined buildings offered plenty of cover from heavy weapons fire.
Brother Wolfleader thundered forward in his ancient Predator Annihilator, but was greated by a shot from a railgun, mounted on a hovering tank. To the shock of all his battle brothers, the high velocity shot punctured the front armour of the ancient vehicle and detonated the fuel cells, resulting in an enormous explosion that claimed the life of Brother Eman, whose power armour was pierced by a red-hot shard of the tank's armour.
The high power and impressive range of the xenos' guns gave them a significant tactical advantage, and Interrogator Chaplain Tyreal resolved to close the distance fast, to crush the xenos' feeble bodies in hand-to-hand combat.
Scout Squad Rogge, which had split in two and infiltrated ahead of the main army, had to bear a lot of the alien firepower. The combat squad led by Sergeant Rogge himself lost four scouts to fire from an alien hover tank and from a squad of alien troopers.
The other combat squad lost two brothers, but returned fire with their sniper rifles and rocket launcher, killing several of the Tau that guarded an unarmoured civilian that seemed to be of great importance to them.
Guided by the scouts, the revered Whirldwind tank opened fire and decimated the bodyguard squad further.
Tyreal and a combat squad of tactical marines rushed towards the enemy, but lost a marine to incoming fire from the forest. Returning fire, Tyreal got a satisfying death scream from one of the creatures hiding in the undergrowth, but tragedy struck as the plasma pistol of Sergeant Oopah overheated and took his life in the resulting explosion.
At the same time, a unit of elite Terminators entered the teleport chamber on the Scorpions' battle barge, led by Librarian Morbo - the fearless warriors were to teleport directly behind enemy lines and rip the xenos apart.
The gamble was incredibly risky, as the teleport destination left not even the tiniest margin for errors.
But the machine spirit of the ancient teleport array did its job flawlessly and the Terminators emerged right in the middle of three enemy squads - Librarian Morbo focused his mind and let flames shoot out of his hands, burning several of the Tau "Fire" warriors alive - maybe the wretches should have taken to naming themselves after another element.
In the wake of this inferno, the Terminators opened fire with their storm bolters, and Drasius spun the barrel of his treasured assault cannon - the shots ripped through the heathen aliens and obliteraded an entire unit of huge battlesuits.
The Terminators trusted their resilient armour to withstand the return fire of the aliens, but their faith did little to protect them from the gigantic railguns that were mounted on the shoulders of another group of battlesuits. The ultra-velocity projectiles penetrated the Terminator armour as if it was paper and claimed the lives of the entire squad.
Librarian Morbo however threw up a force barrier and withstood the onslaught. Screaming in rage, he spun his force staff and charged the battlesuits that had taken the lives of his brothers.
As he closed in however, two floating disc blocked his way, but they could not stop the vengeful psyker - the material of both drones was charred and crushed by his force staff. The way was cleared and Morbo broke open the battlesuit closest to him, snuffing out the life of the alien scum within. The honourless comrade of the exterminated alien knocked Morbo over with a swipe of his massive arm and pinned him to the ground with his massive weight - before pumping shots from his twinlinked railgun into the Librarian's body, taking Morbo's life.
Simultaneously, another squad of battlesuit-wearing Tau jumped into view of Chaplain Tyreal and annihilated the squad accompanying him, while another, lone battlesuit closed the distance to the Whirldwind tank, intending to take out the Scorpions' artillery support.
Squad Buck trained their heavy bolters on the lone battlesuit, ripping it apart with a hail of explosive rounds.
Sergeant Rogge took revenge for his squadmates and killed five Tau in hand-to-hand combat before falling to their superior numbers, while the remaining snipers fell to fire from the hovertank.
Assault Squad MadJackMcJack lost three Marines to incoming fire as they descended from the skies to butcher the bodyguard of the civilian Tau - who was promptly squished by MadJack's powerfist.
The loss of the Tau dignitary had a devastating effect on the Tau army: while the commander was able to keep control over his flank, the troops on the other side of the battlefield panicked and ran from the battle.
Fleeing from the Assault Marines, one of the nearby battlesuits misjudged his thrust and collided with a tree - the impact stunned him and the resulting collision with the ground broke every bone in his body.
Seizing the advantage, Chaplain Tyreal dodged the heavy plasma fire in front of him and linked up with Sergeant MadJack's squad to charge the Tau commander and his squad. The battlesuits took an amazing amount of punishment, but in the end, they could not resist the furious assault and were slaughtered by the Assault Marines.
The Tau fell, but as they were about to move out to take out the hovertank, the Assault Marines were charged by the creatures that had lurked in the forest. The fight was brutal and Chaplain Tyreal slaughtered half a dozen of the surprisingly dexterous creatures before succumbing to his wounds.
Having lost too many of their number already, both forces disengaged in order to regroup.
The Scorpions' vowed to return and take vengeance on the xenos.

The Pharaoh's Scorpions vs Space Wolves
After their encounter with the Tau, the Scorpions had to look elsewhere for new recruits and to harvest much-needed resources.
After much deliberation with the astropaths and navigators, Chapter Master Bernhard decided to set course for an uninhabited star system that promised to supply them with all the raw materials needed to manufacture new ammunition and to process all the promethium needed to restock their supply.
After the landing parties secured the fifth planet of the system, the chapter serfs immediately began to extract the desired resources.
Two days later, however, a Space Wolves strike cruiser entered the system, which, recognizing the Scorpions' fleet, immediately decided to engage the Scorpions. Even though the urge to attack was strong, the puppies realized that their strike cruiser would not stand a chance against the Scorpions' battle barge (supported by several cruisers and escorts).
They therefore landed on the planet and, determined to ruin the resource operation, trapping the Scorpions until a larger fleet would arrive to support them.
The Scorpions hurriedly mustered their ground forces to protect the serfs and servitors.
The Scorpions tried to pin the rapidly approaching Space Wolves with a barrage from their Whirlwind tank, but the Space Wolves just ignored the incoming missiles and shrugged off what little damage they did.
The puppies tried to encircle the Scorpions with a fast moving Rhino on the right flank and a Razorback on the left flank, while the Wolf Lord and his retinue of terminators marched right up to the centre of the battlefield, challenging the Scorpions to attack them.
The Scorpions however were too disciplined to take the bait, and scout squad Rogge attempted to draw the Wolf Lord's attention while Buck's heavy weapons squad set up their plasma cannons and heavy bolters to pick the cumbersome terminators off.
The scouts were too careless and entered the range of the terminator's assault cannons - the barbaric Wolves howled as their lethal hail of fire ripped all five scouts apart.
Their laughter was short-lived however, as a shot from Gleeman's plasma cannon obliteraded one of their number.
Simultaneously, the Space Wolves' heavy weapons were annihilated as their power armour was unable to withstand the high explosive rockets shot at them by a tactical combat squad and the sniper scouts.
While the Space Wolves disembarked from their transports and the venerable dreadnought they had brought along fought its way through the dense vegetation, interrogator chaplain Tyreal and chapter master Bernhard, who had opted to carry jump packs, joined up with assault squad MadJackMcJack and went to answer the Wolf Lord's challenge with bolter fire and chainswords.
Veteran squad Sliver and combat squad Linky moved to engage the passengers of the razorback, while the Blood Claws disembarked from their Rhino and moved to charge the sniper scouts.
In the meantime, a squad of Wolf scouts had circumvented the Scorpions' lines and charged the combat squad carrying the plasma cannons, killing all but Gleeman, who reacted with a strategic withdrawal - only to take revenge by frying the Wolf scouts with his plasma cannon - sadly, not before one of the scouts attached a melta bomb to the whirlwind, which was destroyed by the resulting explosion.
Moments later, the Blood Claws charged the scouts and Gleeman, wiping them out in their mindless frenzy.
On the other flank, a squad of Wolf Guard led by a rune priest used their razorback as cover, and, safe from return fire, killed combat squad Linky.
Trying to clear a way to the Wolf Guard, Sergeant Sliver ordered one of his battle brothers to target the vehicle with his multi-melta, while one of the tactical squads opened fire with its missile launcher.
Both anti-tank weapons scored direct hits and turned the vehicle into an unusable wreck.
Seperated from the Wolf Guard, veteran squad Sliver turned to see the venerable Space Wolf dreadnought crash through the undergrowth - Sliver instantaneously ordered the multi-melta to fire and even the ancient armour of the dreadnought had to give way to the superheated pulse from the multi-melta and exploded, wiping out a large section of the forest.
In the centre of the battlefield, the assault marines charged the Space Wolf terminators and mercilessly tore them apart, taking revenge for brother sergeant Rogge. Chaplain Tyreal personally beheaded the Wolf Lord with his sacred Crozius.
The Scorpions engaged their jump packs right away and charged the Grey Hunters, which had intended to provide rapid fire support for the terminators, completely wiping them out in the process.
Their next jump brought them into hand-to-hand contact with the Wolf Guard, who were the only senior Space Wolves left at that point.
After a furious, bloody melee, the last Wolf Guard fell - leaving only the Rune Priest standing. Honourably, the scorpions came one by one, and four fell to the priests powered axe, brutal strength and abominable witchcraft.
Then sergeant MadJackMcJack stepped forward: a well-aimed round from his bolt pistol damaged the priests sidearm. MadJack then holstered his own pistol and challenged the priest with a provocative gesture, involving the middle finger of his powerfist.
The priest grabbed his axe two-handed and charged McJack, roaring a battlecry to his primarch. McJack dodged nimbly and deflected the blow with his shoulder guard. Turning much quicker than his opponent, he struck a devastating blow with his powerfist, ending the duel and the overall battle.
Left without leadership, the Blood Claws were quickly caught in a crossfire, tucking their tail and running.
The resource operation continued undisturbed and the Scorpions relocated their fleet to try and throw off the inquisition.
