Red Squares indicate the location of the Chaos Forces. Blue Squares indicate the location of the Sisters Forces.

4 of the 5 Chaos FOCs scattered way off target with one ending up in the middle of the ocean. My best friend wasn't too happy with the results of his drop podding since he was trying to secure some major cities on the map.

4 out of 5 of the Sisters FOCs landed right on target, including the one that landed right on top of the Chaos FOC at Grid 3, 9. The Sisters seized several major cities in their initial drop pod assault. Force Cherubum was the only one to drop pod to the wrong coordinates.

The following battle report is from the drop pod assault onto Grid 3, 9.

D-Day+0

Battle 1: Elements of The Hive III (Sabotage) vs. Elements of Force Dominion (Hit and Run) roughly 400 points

Elements of The Hive III

1x5 man Chaos Space Marines Squad
1x5 man Possessed Space Marine Squad
1x3 man Chaos Biker Squad

Elements of Force Dominion

1x10 sister Battle Sister Squad w/Rhino
1x8 sister Seraphim Squad

Turn 1

The Alpha Squads of Seraphim and Battle Sisters were to secure a house to establish a forward outpost to observe the enemy forces. The Seraphim flew to the house in the center of the table and waited for the incoming Chaos forces. The Battle Sisters were mounted in their Rhino and charged forward to the house.

Turn 2

The Chaos forces charged towards the house and a squad of Space Marines opened fire on the Seraphim resulting in 2 losses. The Chaos biker squad tried to outflank the Sisters on the left and opened fire on the Seraphim resulting in one more Sister lost. The Seraphim held fast in their faith in the Emperor.

Turn 3

The Battle Sisters disembarked and moved forward towards the house. The Rhino left the field of battle to report that they had contact with elements of Hive III and retreated the way it had come in. The Seraphim opened fire on the Chaos Space Marines and 2 were purged of their sins. The Battle Sisters opened fire on the Chaos bikers resulting in 2 out of the 3 Bikers dying in a hail of bolter fire. The Seraphim charged the Possessed Space Marines and killed one in the Emperor’s Fury. The Possessed retaliated and another Seraph was martyred. Once the close combat had ended the Seraphim flew off the board and escaped.

Turn 4

The Chaos forces left the field of battle as they had failed to achieve their objective. They left behind their fallen comrades to boil and fester under the hot sun of Tyric in hopes the rotting corpses would spread Nurgle’s touch.

Since the Sisters won their objective Hive III was forced out of the Grid to a new location. Location will be updated when we play next.

Edit: When I get the force composition from my best friend I'll update the exact squad composition and experience they earned in the battle.

Craziness, whats going to happen to the blokes in the sea, does the dreadclaw surface and slow terrain or are they dead.(very quick campaign) I don't suppose you could sum up your campaign rule set so we can layer your bat reps over the top in our minds (it helps me visualise) :D

We decided to have the guys in the ocean survive, but move at 1 square per two games. Standard movement across the terrain is 1 square per game for each FOC. If you lose a battle you must retreat one square in any direction. If you win a battle for a square you move into that square and occupy it with the option to do a follow up move. We're using a master roster of each FOC and letting the units gain experience using the standard campaign rules. We haven't talked about resupplying units that have suffered casualties, but I'll bring that up next time I talk to him. Another thing I need to talk to him about is if we can split our FOCs down into smaller formations to play kill team and combat patrol while expanding strategic possibilities. I plan on using the campaign event system you suggested. Overall, I think that this will work out pretty good.

Oh, I also plan on updating the campaign map showing where each FOC moved to, so it's easy to understand what's happening over the course of the campaign. Another thing I'll be adding in the future is pictures of each turn for each battle.
