40k Tzeentch Herald Chariots

Postby Baragash » Fri Mar 19, 2010 10:19 am

Any thoughts for modelling?

I'm tempted by the Disc+Screamers on 60mm base (or LotR dragon base if it's a squeeze)..... but what about the Herald itself?

I've looked at the Fantasy Tzeentch champions, but none of them really grab me for a 40k Herald, anyone got any ideas please?

I'm using the old Lord of Change models to represent my Chariots of Tzeentch - they are currently mounted on the original 40mm square bases - no complaints from any opponents to date.

I'm using the old Lord of Change model as a Tzeentch Daemon Prince ;)

How about an epic scale LoC?

Interesting idea, how do you reckon they look size-wise vs the Fantasy Disc?

You also made me think of this:

Anyone know what size he comes out at?

Given the size of the Warmaster base, I'm thinking probably similar to the epic LoC?

The Epic LoC I have (original one) is about the same size as a "normal" model (like a marine for example) from memory*. I've not seen the one you have in the picture there so cannot say how that compares.

If I remember tonight, I'll take a picture of my epic LoC against some other models for you.

*as an aside, we collected some 15mm fantasy armies for a while and played WHFB in "half" scale. I used the Epic greater deamons for this and the size was perfect :) Half-scale fantasy is a very cheap way to collect and play!

Cheers...just had a browse on the GW site, what do people think of any of these as good Disc-riding Tzeentch Heralds (appropriate colours ofc)?

(I think some of the Wood Elf Spellsingers would make good unmounted Heralds)

The other idea I was and am still playing is converting some "Wyrms of Tzeentch / extra large screamers' to represent Chariots. I intend and now have the following to use as a basis
(lego manta rays)

Edit - if your after Disc of Tzeentch riders, I have this model on a disc

I ended up using the older of the standard Chaos Sorcerers, as I think he looks quiet like an advanced horror.

Are you mounting the model on a chariot base for use in either game system?

No, not interested in doing Daemons for Fantasy. 60mm round base, or maybe one of the larger oval bases.

@lostandthedamned: cheers, but robes and staffs make it just too Fantasy-like for me if that makes sense?
