Battlescape

Postby Ben » Sun Sep 20, 2009 2:11 am

Did anyone get this?

I liked the Cities of Death buildings and thought the trees were nice (until 5th edition) but the Battlescape seems like the roads. By that I mean that at first blush it doesn't look like it is worth the price.

Am I being overly critical or it not worth the price?

I was going to get this until I realised it was all mashed together in a single terrain piece - like a whole battlefield's worth of features that all happen to be at a single spot (reminded me of how all the landmarks and monuments of the foreign countries were all together in the same place in Team America ;)).

I ended up buying the Blastscape Craters instead. :)

Perhaps the European landmarks were all together because they actually bombed Las Vegas?

It has an Eiffel tower, a Venice-lite canal setup, etc. :D

Hi,

I did buy this, however i bought it with a advance order of the SW codex, so i reckon i will be waiting until that is released til i get the battlescape, ill let you know how it is when it arrives,

Im thinking it is vacuum sheet, so i may have to fill the rhino out a bit!

From what I've seen, the battlescape is a piece of terrain on sprue. See http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213939 for a nice summary of it all.

Ooh now that looks nice - without the trees! You could leave them off and cover the treestumps with wire wool to make plumes of smoke. Hmm, I might have to consider picking one of these up at the next WHW meetup. ;)

That photo does help but I am still not sure if it is worth $25.
