Bits and Kits UK?

Postby mortiferum » Fri Jul 31, 2009 8:47 am

I'm talking about this webstore:

http://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/shop/page/1?shop_param=

Anyone used them before?
Anyone ever received a stock updates notification? Mine doesn't seem to work.

I get a stock update about every 2 weeks. Only 1 order never arrived, but got a full refund, used the site near 50times though.

resurrecting this one...

Has anyone actually managed to successfully contact via telephone and talk to the staff of Bits and Kits?

I've a problem with an order and tried calling the telephone number as displayed on there website. A female answered and prompted told me that I had the wrong number and the number on the website was incorrect - I got the impression that this wasn't the first time she had received a call for people wanting to talk to 'Bits And Kits'.

I've since tried a few emails -no reply and have now sent a letter via snail mail and am awaiting a reply.

If anyone has managed to call them succesfully I would very much appreciate (via PM) there correct contact number.

If you paid through paypal, they take more notice when you send a message through that.

Never used them. So the mobile number on the site isn't theirs?

Personally I'd send a letter by recorded delivery, politely asking about your order and for a telephone number, and to point out that the number on the site is incorrect. I see you've already posted one - if you make it too pushy then it might just get ignored.

The domain is actually registered by "A and M Models", but I can't find any record of a company of that name (or as A&M or A & M) at companies house, but as a sole trader there would be no need to do so. Looking at the satellite image on Google Maps for the address it's a residential area, so no chance of a business number registered with directory enquiries, and without a surname will be hard to find a landline number.

They also own the battlewagonbits.co.uk address too, but it's the same site that comes up. That's a bit naughty really - using the name of an existing US bits firm (which ended up being taken over by The Warstore) in order to capture traffic intended for the other site.

TIngely is 0113, and your dialling 07776286450 ...sounds like a mobile..wonder if he's upgraded (another reason to hate iphones lol)
They do say " FEBRUARY 26TH 2010- RESTOCKING CURRENTLY UNDERWAY, NEW DESIGN AND FUNCTIONS FOR WEBSITE COMING SOON."
Don't know if it helps but they also exist on the domain http://www.battlewagonbits.co.uk/

and a dakkarite said the only way they answer the phone is if you say your putting in a paypal complaint..source- 2nd post here
Where is that thread where ljundhammer listed the accountantants website where all buisnesses had to give their current contact details.. did a mod delete it(due to it being in a spam thread)? that info was handy

Finally resolved!

Seems the only way to get there attention was via PayPal resolution centre (as suggested by others) within a few hours of raising the dispute had a reply and the missing components were shipped out.

Thanks for the suggestion guys and +1 to PayPal :D

I recieved a load of stuff from them yesterday.
About, what, 15 deals have equalled 1 problem (that was understandable, 2 different bits were titled the same thing).
