(my info is probably out of date and rather vague...I hate pointy ears)
You (recently) used to see a lot of
Eldrad, waveserpents, falcons. fire dragons.. and dire avengers as minned out troop choices inside the waveserpents.
2 small jetbikes as troops were the mainstay of Mr6s armies for a long time.
3 Warwalkers as a unit put out so many shots that they are nice.. and autarchs help if your being tricksy eldar pointy eared sneaks with the reserves rules.

Wayy back in the day harliquins and wraithlords were cool..but people tell me that there armies are super friendly because they have them in nowadays.
It has always been the prerogative of half-wits and fools to point out the Emperor has no clothes, but the Emperor remains the Emperor, and the half-wit remains a half-wit.-The Sandman (The friendly ones)

I'd say pretty much everything in the dex has it's place, except WRAITHGUARD which are pants plus, both in cost (points) and price (£).

Not particularly impressed with quins, either, come to think.

The thing to remember about eldar, is they need to be fielded in supportive groups. Different aspects need to mesh together to get them to work.
In a way, you need a bit of everything to get the most out of them.

Whats wrong with wraithguard, i have 20.
"Crom, i've never prayed to you before, i have no tongue for it.
No-one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought and why we died.
All that matters is that two stood against many, thats whats important.
Valor pleases you lord Crom so grant me one thing, grant me revenge.
And if you do not listen....then to hell with you!"
