GK Jokaero Weaponsmith?

Postby conscriptboris » Sun Mar 20, 2011 1:29 pm

Is this a joke by GW or real, not seen it discussed here yet, in the advance orders part of the GW site:

this is something thats paints the army as a bit of a joke and the name sounds similiar to the word!

To be fair the Jokaero have been around since RT days, not sure if they ever made a model before though. They have also had links with the Inquisition as they are mentioned in the original Inquisitor trilogy from the late 80s/early 90s as the main character (forget his name now, been a while since I read it) made extensive use of Jokaero technology. As an aside, the original Inquisition trilogy is also the first place the Cabal and their links with the Hydra is mentioned which came up much later in the Legion HH book.

They did have a model in the RT days, but it's now very rare.

As you can see, names of things back in the RT days were pretty bad, Jokaero is a hell of a lot better than the "Death Ferret"!

markb, that would be Jaq Draco.

Demonhosts, demon weapons and xeno tech all in a pure grey knights army is the joke.
A guy who lives in the eye of terror beating up the gods tzeentch and nurgle every tuesday with impunity is the joke.
£8 for 1 of 12 of 1 FOC slot is the joke.
But the monkey in itself is not the joke, for ages (since first leaks) people have been talking about taking cortez as Charlton Heston Leading an army of darned dirty apes. 8) However in costing £302 (not including cortex) I sense some non GW models being used.

Thanks Spack, like I said been a while since I read it. The thing is back in RT days GW still had a sense of humour (and, judging by some of it, copious amounts of drugs), long before they sold out to the corperate accountants and money men. I don't think I'll ever forgive them for making the Ork/cs as serious as they are now! Its like that creature they created, think it was called the Catachen face eater or something, that looked exactly like a flannel! Genius!

Maybe they have a platform above the vehicle and simply drop through the hatch.

Given that they're wearing armour, the obvious answer is that they never actually touch the vehicle so are not affected by it. But then that would also suggest that only psykers who are touched by the vehicle on their skin would be affected, making even a simple glove an effective counter to the vehicle armour ...

hmm, fair enough. I just dont find it relative to the game (model wise) they change plenty of other aspects from RT days, why not how this model looks.

I have a strange feeling about the direction of W40k after this Army release, a couple of the models seem to be going to far for 40k, im thinking like the latest C&C Red Alerts seems to have done...gone to far!
