Age Limit: 16+

Details: This is Games Workshop's premier gaming event held in the stunning Warhammer World Gaming Arena. Armed with your fully painted 1,500 point Warhammer 40,000 army, you will play against the cream of the gaming community over six games in one of the three heats in order to try and win a coveted place in this season's Grand Final.

For those of you who are looking for a fun weekend's worth of gaming, we will be rewarding great gaming and hobby behaviour with some other fun awards to mark the occasion.

If you want to know more about this event, then check out the event pack, available for download below.

Whether entering as a solo player or as part of a team, this event is a fantastic excuse to play some great games, meet some new players and take full advantage of the Warhammer World Visitor Centre.

Due to their high level of demand and the limited number of tickets available for this event, please be absolutely certain that you have ordered the right ticket for the right heat as we may not be able to offer you any exchanges.

Tickets: Tickets cost £53.85 per player, and includes lunch on both days, an evening meal on the Saturday night, tea & coffee at the start of both days and doughnuts to get you started on Saturday morning.

Heat 3 is 28-29th november, but your registration card (personal details ticket number and army name) must be submitted by 13th november..

You also have to type into the roster given your army list and details or face a 10 point penalty..I'm still WTFing about that (trying to work out which adobe app allows me to fill in a closed PDF as a document that I have) and trying to work out how to mess about with their PDf to do that. That however must only be brought with you, not posted in advance.

A report on the accomodation is called for post-event... is it a place we'd want to use for the Feb AoS meetup? How many people can it take? Website address?

Is the accommodation both nights or just Saturday, or individual choice?

individual's choice. We are going to WHW friday mid day for some friendly warm up games. I'm hoping Toby and James can join us. Saturday is drinks night in Bugman'sso you'll need money for that too. Hopefully Toby and James can stay out that long without getting a nose bleed, or chew from the otherhalves.

To see accomadation we've picked (not stayed at before, but was opposite at another B&B before) is:

(stealing from ljundhammer elsewhere)
£55 is expensive if you recognise you can't get through to the final and don't want to have games against the thursday night lot.I reckon Baragash can see a future where his £55 gets him 12 games, that makes it worth the cash..
I reckon stunty should join us next year instead :D (when he's been corrupted by you a few times nige)

Is there a claim further up, or can I grab the ticket?

@KMB: cheers, but realistically what sort of record do you need to qualify? 4-0-2? 3-1-2?

The biggest challenge will be that I'm seeing Jools Holland on the Friday Night, so I'll have to hit the road by 6.30 on Saturday morning (mind you, that's no later than I get up for work).

These are the two lists I'm considering, although if painting is looking weak* by about the 6th of Nov I can fall back on a BA list....

*It's mostly Black Legion, so that makes it a bit easier :)

List 1

Daemon Prince (MoS, Warptime, Wings) 160
Daemon Prince (MoS, Warptime, Wings) 160
10 CSM (Rhino, AC, Powerfist, 2x Flamers, IoCG) 240
10 CSM (Rhino, AC, Powerfist, 2x Meltas, IoCG) 250
10 CSM (Rhino, AC, Power Weapon, 2x Plasma, IoCG) 250
2x Obliterators 150
Vindicator (Possession) 145
Vindicator (Possession) 145

1500

List 2

Daemon Prince (MoS, Warptime, Wings) 160
Daemon Prince (MoS, Warptime, Wings) 160
10 CSM (Rhino, AC, Powerfist, 2x Flamers) 235
10 CSM (Rhino, AC, Powerfist, 2x Meltas) 245
7 Plague Marines (Rhino, AC, Power Weapon, 2x Plasma) 256
2x Obliterators 150
Vindicator (Possession) 145

Here's last year's heat results:

http://warhammerworld.typepad.com/warha ... ts_ht1.pdf
http://warhammerworld.typepad.com/warha ... karen6.pdf
http://warhammerworld.typepad.com/files ... ual-r6.pdf

You can get through with with 3 wins and a draw, but 3 wins & 2 draws is comfortable.

Your lists aren't far off my (still unpainted CSM lists) although I use a lash price & 3 vindis.

ur second list is almost the same as my friends, he does well with it against us lot. Only diff is, he has 3 defilers no oblits, and one csm unit less for another nurgle unit, but all with meltas.

the rhinos take the troops to the battle, while covering fire is offered at range, but still moving in behind them to support, by the defilers.

the ticket is not sold yet, and the 1st person who makes a payment to my paypal account (nigel.king@btconnect.com) for the sum of £55 wins the ticket and gets a free T shirt with his name on the sleeve for the event.

PM me when the payment i done, I'll postI have recived it. Reference the payment GT Ticket plz.

I Just checked my placing last year. Heres me thinking my SM just scraped through, but I was 17 without loss :| They did alot better than i recal.

EDIT, scrap that, they lost 2x... that's more like the memory I had. Ah well.

As for influencing Stunty, I think he ordered a Khorne CD army from us after the AoS meetup this August. ;)

*sends money*

List 3

Daemon Prince (MoS, Warptime, Wings) 160
Daemon Prince (MoS, Warptime, Wings) 160
10 CSM (Rhino, AC, Powerfist, 2x Flamers, IoCG) 240
10 CSM (Rhino, AC, Powerfist, 2x Meltas, IoCG) 250
8 Plague Marines (Rhino, 2x Plasma) 249
2x Obliterators 150
Vindicator (Possession) 145
Vindicator (Possession) 145

1499

I feel uncomfortable not having a Fearless unit (so the enemy absolutely has to kill them all to claim the objective), but my Morale Checks suck, so I also feel uncomfortable without the IoCG.....which makes the Plague Champion somewhat redundant, so I may as well throw the extra body down.

I'll probably test this one first.
