There is in the Big Rulebook I think... but I think it's just 400pts each. I guess that could be expanded though.

Why not just play a normal game?

Here are the old rules for Kill Team. You should be able to come up with a few good game ideas.

Remember guys he's not asking for the extra rules for combat patrol.
He's just asking for a nooby guide to 40k...to play tiny battles.
check out the quick reference sheets in your rule book (p109 if you have the tiny one).you can print off your own from here
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/conte ... Id=3400013
Get the 40k one and the one for both armies you'll be using.
The whole
step 1 is movement, see unit type for if terrain effected. Step 1 done.
Step 2 shooting, see step 2s flowchart.
Step 3 assault run through assault flowchart.
Is exactly a step by step walk through of the game.
You still need a few pages bookmarked in your rulebook (e.g. what the hell is terrain, see p13,14..What happens if I have an independant charector and a squad fighting one guy..probably best if you ignore that I just found a whole tactica forum playing that wrong still  )
Then 1st game don't worry too much about the combat patrol/40k in 4minutes restrictions (you can't take a dread..so when will he ever see one..I guess Kans and warwalkers, you can't take any large blast things or termies etc etc) just take a few sample exciting units each (a basic troops squad..some heavy weapons, a tracked tank (not the vindicator), a walker or (weak) MC) have him get used to each one moving and each one being killed/kill. Probably best if you lose, going out of your way to beat him to death when you've set everything up is about the least cool thing to do. and he'll just not play again.

Okay, sorry missed that bit.

@niteterror - best way to start is with small forces. Try just using 1 HQ and 2 troop choices.
Keep the point costs low, use basic weapons, etc.
Also, you can read some battle reports here and on other sites, gives some good examples of gameplay.

Follow KMBs steps and you'll be up and playing in no time.
