heavy bolter or heavy flamer?

heavy bolter or heavy flamer?

I was wondering, on a chimera should i have a heavy bolter or a h flamer in its hull,i was thinking the h flamer, because it will be getting close 2 the enemy. any suggestions?

If you know you're going to be getting in close, the flamer is good choice. I tend to take the bolter as I often keep my chimeras back - I use them to plug holes in my lines rather than race units into cc as basic IG don't last long in cc.

Yeah, I'd take 2 Heavy Bolters and a stubber. 9 shootting dice / turn gives you nice anti-infantry support and the Chimeras nice for screening stuff too.

but its an AV 12 vehicle. The heavy stubber is a perhaps a waste, when you really want to keep your chims cheap and nasty, so the twin HF for close up work, or the good old ML/HB combination. The 36" range of the guns in the latter case should mean that it can drop off its cargo, move to a safer distance and still provide adequate fire support.

well if your playing CoD rules then spring for the heavy flamer but if your going to play standard rules use the heavy bolter (Heavy Flamer works bestwith night fight where you have limited range)
