Necron story question(s)

Postby Herr_Virga » Sat Sep 22, 2012 6:41 pm

I was wondering. Can Necron be used as plausible characters for a story or novel? I mean, do they talk, can they think, and how much is left of the awareness of the original Necronthyr that is inhabiting the living metal body of the Necron he (or she) now is?
Is there any information concerning this, or am I treading unknown Xeno Biology territory that only the Emperor knows or that the Mechanicum did not glean from their autopsies of captured Necron, if such a thing is possible.

Not sure about rank-and-file Necrons but certainly the royalty are relatively "human" in their personality.

Black Library have used the Nightbringer a couple of times in novels, as well as had some interaction between marines and Necron Lords - if BL can do it, go for it :) With the "new" codex the Lords aren't mindless robots any more, nor are the named characters, so there's plenty to get you started there.
