Orks with a twist, any out there

Postby estarriol » Mon Apr 26, 2010 12:58 pm

I have a solid Ork force myself, modelled on the basic GW ones with a tweak of my own (custom hats etc).

Now I am looking for ideas or even other manufacturers who have done reasonably high tech Orks that look different to the style mine are done in?

Examples of mine:

So your.. looking for other conversion ideas or other manufacturers who produce different lines of orcs..right?
Sorry I'm really boring with my orks so far so can't help.. although I do hear that there are some very good "how to turn your 5 AOBR boxes into every unit from the ork dex" style threads on the web (berets and spru wall for infiltrators, deffoptas into nob bikes etc)

Main scratchy mod stuff on here was by doctor thunder here (whats with all the hats!!)and soccaddict made awarjacknoboss

look at the bits on http://www.maxmini.eu/ theres a few nice orky conversion bits listed as kromlech and as post apocalyptic minis in their conversion bits section. also theres some really cool pirate ork heads that Ive made my flash gits with! another site u might like to check out for orky bits is http://www.shop.microartstudio.com/index.php they do ork and gretchin heads in their conversion bits section. the gasmask heads make really cool (and cheap) kommandos! 8)
whats that coming over the hill, is it a monster, is it a...oh sh*t its Kharn.

look for them :P .
A few highlights of just searching "AOBR" in warseer general
Marv says- "
AoBR comes with no options whatsoever, but at the price you pay for it, it's still wonderful value.
For my deffcoptas, I just clipped the ends off the rokkits and drilled a hole in the end. Instant Big Shoota.
Add a sentinel close combat attachment, and there is an easy buzzsaw.
The Nobs, if you have some warbikers, the PK and big Choppa from that is compatible with the Nobs. and as for the boys, I like a unit of sluggaboys in my army for added HtH punch."

I actually just took 2 of the bigger chainsaws off boyz glued them together like scissors and added them to my death copta for buzzsaws..cheaper.
A fair few people making kanz out of (guard) sentinals.. although in the seconds market there isn't much difference price wise taking the mod costs into account.
thread-
"AOBR kommandos"=
http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthrea ... kkommandos
(inc my big bomb from spru)

Google-"deffkopta conversion nob biker"
http://www.the-waaagh.com/forums/?showtopic=35944
http://www.minus1mod.com/smf/index.php?topic=1954.0
etc.
The web= everything.
Sorry for the sidetrack estarriol
