Possessed Land Raider

Postby Culven » Wed Jul 22, 2009 10:26 pm

I have plans to sculpt a Possessed Land Raider for my Chaos army, and I am seeking input as to the most important aspects to include in my project. The TL Lascannons and Heavy Bolter are givens, as is the assault ramp and side hatches. I will also endeavour to create a final model that is roughly the same size as a GW Land Raider. Are there any other aspects that the community thinks should be adhered to or are more flexible?

I would like some input from everyone to ensure that my creation isn't viewed as "taking advantage of the rules" or some other such nonsense.

Thank you in advance for your input.

I'm not sure what you want? :)
Something that is identifiable as a middlepoint (for when the vehicle pivots) would be good (easy with simple rectangle, harder with a deformed kidney shape).
las Weapons mounted on the sides (rather than as I have seen some (esp the forgworld 5 lascannon) mount them as pseudo turrets fom the top for better LOS)
Something that makes it possessed, I backed out of going the whole tenticle and awesome paintwork route and just got some 1" square skulls from the arcane ruins set and stuck them around it.
Does that help?
Your avatar looks tiny :)

Yes, thank you for the input. I am planning s more organic form (think deamon snail or trilobite). I planned to have the Lascannons on "arms" on the sides, so there shouldn't be any issues with modeling to improve LOS.

I blame the new website for my shrunken cat head avatar. :(

It's always been that size. It's just more obvious with the lighter background :P

I think as long as you stick to the rough dimensions of the GW model and have the guns/assault ramp in the same places then no-one can really complain.
