Rhino's, old and new.

Postby Cain Tiberius » Fri Apr 08, 2011 5:18 pm

Hey folks. Question for you. I'm interested in your opinions.
I am thinking of converting some of the current MK2 Rhino chasis based vehicles to have features of the old MK1's. Basically I want some of the MK1 Rhino based tanks, but I'd like them to look like modern GW kits. And not like their older smaller models.
My question is.. Fluff wise, would a mix of old and new be expected? I don't want to do all of one type or the other. I would like to do a mix of the two.

From a fluff point of view I don't see a problem, after all they do mix armour types. Be interesting to see how you do it as I have been toying with the idea of using the FW pre Heresy SMs and converting vehicles to look like the old stuff and saying they were a company that got lost in the Warp and have only just turned up.

THat kit would be a start but I was looking at trying to get it as close as possible. I keep coming up with all these brilliant ideas then realise it would be a total nightmare to do. Sometimes my reach really does exceed my grasp but it is something I would like to try and do sometime. Probably fail dismally though.

Have a look at the paper models for Rhinos, and fiddle and see from there, nice cheap way to have a look.

Thanks guys.
I already have the ideas mapped out in my head for the model. I just wanted to see if it would be worth doing. I don't want people complaining that I should have done them all one way or the other.
