Can anybody who has a FW Griffon mortar carrier vehicle AND a FW heavy mortar tell me if they are the same gun or not.

I'm looking at a conversion using the gun part of the heavy mortar on carriage (Scored some dirt cheap FW stuff in a swap meet) but want to know if they will look right together (I have an old chimera hull that will get some work).

Best I can do is post up a pic of a FW Heavy Mortar on a GW Griffon chassis which should give you some idea of whether it'll work. It's definitely a larger barrel than the old GW metal Griffon parts so should look good. I'll try to post it up in a couple of hours.

Sorry about the delay. Was distracted by other things.

Yep, those pics do the job fine.
Thank you very much.

Much illness and family issues did their level best to waylay me, but I'm back.

More or less. Had a trip up to sunny tropical North Queensland (palm trees, sandy beaches, sunlight, clear water - you know, just another day in paradise stuff) and then got waylaid by a tummy bug one day before departure (for home).

Then it was the wife's turn.
Then other members of the family.

Then a mate's dad died and another mate went into hospital for chemo.
My elder sister was admitted to hospital with a suspected 'micro-stroke' (she's a year older).

All's good now, but.
:D

touch wood.
