lol there are no sides, just right and wrong. mmm I guess they are sides lol

Here try this one for a giggle: The top floor of a ruin is somewhere where a skimmer cannot go as pointed out by TW. Therefore that area of the ruin is impassible to the skimmer. Therefore as it is impassible to the skimmer, in may end its turn above it, but only if you can place the model there and let go of it.

Cracking stuff, what you think :D

I like the thinking! 8)
The only fly in the ointment is that impassable terrain is not somewhere that a unit can't go, it is terrain that has been classified as impassable.
If not, then in your example, skimmers could go inside buildings.
Since only one infantry unit plus ICs can occupy a building, it is somewhere skimmers can't go. If that made it impassable to skimmers, they could go inside the building after taking a dangerous terrain test! :?
But instead the rules say that only infantry units and ICs may occupy a building. So any other unit may not. Same as the rules defining which units can move on the upper floors of a ruin.

lolol, well it just seems wrong they can land on impassible and not on a ruin to me. wrong wrong wrong.!!! What if it had been a normal building, say the flat roof?

It would all depend on what you classified it as before the game.

Then it could be one of two things.
If the building had a flat roof and was agreed to be impassable, then the skimmer could end it's move there, taking a dangerous terrain test.
However, if the flat roof is agreed to be a parapet or battlement, then it could not land or end its move there. This is because parapets and battlements allow models occupying the building to be positioned there to fire. They still count as being in the building however, so the roof is part of the building, and only infantry and ICs can occupy a building!

Ah! Like not occupying a transport vehicle, just landing on it? 8)

EDIT: Wait! Stop the presses!! Nige is right!
BRB page 79, 3rd paragraph, last sentence (qv); "Units of jump infantry, jetbikes and skimmers cannot land on a building that is occupied by enemy units."
I guess that would mean that a skimmer can land on an unoccupied building. Looks like they can even land on a building that is occupied by friendly troops.
Nice find Nige!

It might make landing pads a bit redundant if they couldn't!

Well, actually I was waiting for someone to point out the last sentence in the "Shooting At Skimmers" secton on page 71 that says; "...as normally skimmers cannot land in battle conditions."

So skimmers can land on unoccupied buildings except that they can't land in battle conditions. Does this mean that they can only land after the game ends?

Or during deployment because deployment is movement which means the game hasn't started :P
