Nope I'm afraid spelling really would help out here..
Code: Select all
I know I probably haven’t spelt that right but it's ok-ish.
I’m in the last year of West Redcar school and I’ve heard they can take you to
the regions and national tournament; does anyone know of this tournament or the rules involved? So far I know it's 600 points.
I can't find A "regions and national tournament" and the only tournaments I can easily find that are 600 points are for lord of the rings (its not quite 40k and its a very stretched combat patrol).

The *ONLY* thing I could find matching your vague and inaccurate post was an old 4chan post as follows
Manlymoose !!pJGHrRJZ0IU Tue Apr 13 18:33:54 2010 No.9172184

Something to bear in mind, thanks.
It's a doubles tournament, allying with a friend that plays guard who's going mech. like I said, its only a small one (600 points each) so you can't bring much to the table and conversly you don't have to face much either. It's one of those ones where you cant spam either elites, fast attack or heavy support without filling them out in tandem.
Oh, and btw - I'll be playing Space vampires. Been playing them for a while though. The temptation to print a 'I played BA before they were "Cool" ' T-shirt is rising every day.

typing in 600 points doubles tournaments I then get info like this
Army lists;

* On the Saturday, both gamers take 500 point armies. These armies combine to make one complete army. You can take armies from a different codex, but only if they are allowed to ally (see chart below)
* Each player MUST take at least ONE troop choice each.
* One of the players MUST take a HQ.
* Then the players can then take one elite, fast and heavy choice between them.
* When the players combined have 2+ troops, 1 HQ, and 1 elite, fast and heavy; they may then take a 2nd HQ, elite, fast and heavy choice.
* If the players have 2 HQ, elite, fast and heavy's, they may only take a 3rd elite, fast and heavy if they have 3 troop choices.
* The players have 500 points each, and cannot ‘loan' points to their partner.
* For example;

Player A uses space marines and Player B takes Eldar. A takes a tactical squad and a captain and B takes a dire avenger squad. Between them they have 2 troops and one HQ. B then takes an assault squad, while B takes a wraithlord and howling banshees. Now between them they have 2 troops, 1 HQ, elite, fast and heavy. With the points remaining, B takes Warp spiders. B wouldn't be able to take the 2nd elite troop choice if they didn't have 2 troops, 1 HQ, elite, fast and heavy.

Are you sure its 600 points, is it doubles, what is its name*exactly*. Who is it run by/for (schoolkids only?etc).

Oddly enough the 57th link I followed throughwas a beta to the thing that scuzzlebum just announced this morning, but thats a 1750 tourney held in the midlands.Nothing in their blurb says they followed through on doing regional heats.

Is niteterror not referring to the national school championships?

The finals are at WHW. That is literally all I know.

As an age group I'd suggest www.40kforums.com is potentially the place to ask about it.

West Redcar School competes in the School League and have been very sucessful in it, my son is a member of the school club and enjoys it.
It is basically 600points combat patrol for 40K, the School Leagues packs are available to download from the GW site. If you want to know more either go to the school club which meets in Mr Wrays Tech Room every Thursday and Fridays straight after school or have a word with Mr Wray or Mr Hobbs
