You have it right from recreating it from the VDR. 225pts.

Where did the other points cost come from? It's not in my Chapter approved.

hmm, interesting... hadnt thought of that.

im far from being a TGC expert though. ;)

Superheavies are allowed to transport Bikes (in the Apoc book)... not sure about Dreads (although i did used to have CC sentinels in tunnelers under the VDR...).

clear as mud, eh?

cheers :)

The main rule book allows it though with the bit about codex books overriding the transport rules.

In US CA2004 there are pre-built stats on pages 81 and 82. The Malefactor is listed there as 263pts. I've checked the other stats too, and most are right, although the Trygon is 5pts under the TDR cost (looks like GW forgot to include the cost for The Terror which is compulsory for a garg creature), and the Harridan is off too. I guess I'll chalk these up to GW just not adding things up correctly and it not being checked before going to print. Doh!

BTW: I fixed the TDR - the original author had reversed the logic for handling toughness and mass points; for instance, the TDR was allowing a max of 3 mass points if the toughness was 8, whereas the rules actually say it's max toughness 8 with 3 mass points. This was preventing T5 or T6 creatures from being allowed to have a mass point, and was allowing T10 creatures that were not gargantuan, and some oddities in between.

Ah, right. My Chapter approved is the first of the 'new' ones from 2001.

The Harridan in the TDR doesn't actually have the ability to carry Gargoyles; the note with it says that the Gargoyles deep strike representing them being dropped from the Harridan.

IAv4 has the Harridan at 636pts with a different profile than the TDR version. It has a special rule allowing the attached Gargoyle brood to detach themselves at any point in the movement phase and treated as disembarking from a vehicle - they are placed within 2" of the Harridan, and may move as normal next turn.

I've attached the profile from IAv4 as calculated by the TDR. It's a bit more pricey using the TDR, but FW uses the TDR/VDR only as initial frameworks and then adjusts them for balance afterwards.

Two notes though: The Terror (which I suppose is actually the Horror power) would be of no use in the new rules, as no one can launch an assault against the Harridan, it being a flier.

Also, the weapon would be a base deathspitter with massive x2, cluster and twin linked to recreate a bio cannon

The Terror is a compulsory upgrade for a gargantuan creature, but I agree it shouldn't be for a flier.

I was going to use the deathspitter as a base, but you can only take massive once. TL means adding a second bio-cannon. but it won't have S10 AP3, only S10 AP4. Plus it needs ranged to make it 48", as the deathspitter is only 18" (as per the old Nid codex that the TDR were based around). These adjustments bring the total up to 800pts - ouch!

Yikes. Scrap that idea then and use the Forgeworld stats.
