Valkyrie and Cadian Command Squad

Discussion of anything 40K related

I've just put the first Valkyrie together (although I haven't glued the roof or canopy on, or the pilots or door gunners in, so it's easier to paint the interior and cockpit) and it went together with no problems at all - every piece fits perfectly, and it's very robust. I'll post pics of it side by side with a FW Valk tomorrow when there's enough light to get a decent photo :)

EDIT: Not quite enough light so I had to use the flash. Pics are in http://www.ageofstrife.com/gallery/Spack155 showing it side by side with a FW Valk. The models are extremely close in terms of exterior detail - the crew and interior are however lacking in the details of the FW kit. At a glance, once painted, you'd be hard pushed to tell the two apart - it's only when you look closely at a few small areas that you can tell them apart; other than comparing weights of course, and the fact that the plastic kit fits properly ;)

valkyrie 2

Half way through assembling mine now - have to say the kits just go from strength to strength. Goes together beautifully. My only complaint is that the top of the engine tubes come in 2 pieces, leaving a seam right down the centre of each engine, which will need some work to hide. Considering how clever the sprue joins are on the rest of the kit, mainly attached to areas that will be hidden when assembled, this seems an odd oversight. that apart the rest of the kit is just brilliant! So tempted to buy a third!
