rigt now im collectin tyrinids but i have gone off them as i sed in my last post now i am selling them. but i need 2 think of a new army.?

i went of tyranids cos i didnt like that they were realy bad at long ranged but goot at close ranged. i dont like the fact that tyranids are the type of figers that are all into close combat. i would prefer a ballenced army that is good at both (but i dont like orks) does anyone on any armys that are good at close combat and are god at close ranged? thanks

Well codex marines are the classic all rounder choice, but if you want to avoid marines, how about eldar?

Eldar are probably the most "specialised" army in the game.
The divisions between "shooty" "assaulty" and "resilient" are probably the most pronounced you will find.

Consider the differnece between dire avengers and banshees.
Then consider the differences between banshees and scorpions.

They also have some of the best tanks in the game. Coupled with farseer or Eldrad psychic powers, holo-fields, spirit stone upgrades etc they are nigh-on indsestructible monstrosities - they can ram you from 36" away, have re-rollable invulnerable saves and are already armour 12, which in terms of the vehicle destruction maths takes them over the curve in the 'NIIIIIIICE' zone..... If you dare try to ram em back, they just dodge anyway. LOVE them when I'm playing them, HATE them when I have to fight someone elses.

or u could look at the Chaos Marines if you don't want the normal Marines.

I find them even more well rounded than normal Marines.

Space Wolves

Grey Hunters are probably the best basic Infantry in the game, the army is awesome in HTH and close range combat and the army has most of the advantages of the Codex Marines.

You also get to be VIKIINNNGGGSSS IIINNNN SSSPPPPPAAACCEEEEEEE.

Blood Angels sort of are a bit like Space Wolves but you are Space Dracula.
