What to call this?

Postby Ben » Tue May 12, 2009 4:16 am

I went to my store that still has 2nd edition sets and I picked this up for $4.

The question now is what do I call it.

I can get a bag o soldiers that has Bauhaus. I could run them as Marines and call it a skimmer with an ass can but I would rather them be IG.

What do you guys think? VDR?

The top pic, with the "boxy" canopy looks a little odd.
The middle one with the camoflage looks good though.

I have a load of hovercraft, fan driven vehicles (russ/chimera/hellhound/basil counts as).

I use them as bog standard tanks and that seems fine.
The original intent with them was to make vdr recreations of standard vehicle types, but with amphibious special rule.

Tbh, I think my stuff and the strike vehicle look more like "hoverers" than skimmers, ie standard vehicles, tanks.

Is the "bag o soldiers" the one with 80 in, half bauhaus and half the other lot (can't remember the name)?

I agree though, ig is more suitable.

@Ruffian: The top one is the "standard" out-of-the-box model. The camo'd one has been modified with WW2 radio gear (German, as it's Bauhaus).

Were they about 4" or so long? (a bit larger than a chariot base) - going off the scaled bits I know (I've got the rotary cannon and crewmember). A bit larger than a Sentinel, then. Around the size of a FW centaur is closer.

That is the bag. The other half are Imperial Trenchers which I actually prefer to the Bauhaus but I found Bauhaus vehicles.

I could but I may need to modify it to explain the melee attacks.

Little over 4 inches. The base is one large resin piece with small metal bits for the two crew, the HMG, the rollbar, and two pieces for the fan assembly in the back.

The melee attacks for the sentinel are from kicking. Can we say 'Ramming Speed'?

Not necessarily, but then you would be getting close to building something like this...

8O That looks pretty Orky to me as it is!
In fact, I think the IG should be able to houserule looting it from the orks!

"Look out boys! There's a hoard of Orks comin' at us!"
"Don't worry Sir! We're mowin' em down!"

Before I had the idea of shoving a Hades Drill into a Land Raider to act as "Deff Rolla" 8O, I was thinking of putting loads of chain blades on a FW mineplough, I may sill use one on an ork trukk as a ram and Frag launcher.

Here is the funny thing.

I was getting ready to do that very thing.

I am missing the front plow on mine but I can put something else in there.

If it is IG you should make it Vahallan since it has Cyrillic written on it. ;)
