40K.
i used to kinda get their point, but this was before i realised how dependant
GW are as a business on
SM sales, as well as the other benefits of updating the
SM codex.
new Marine books are a good thing for a few of reasons:
- Marines sell well, more sales keep
GW afloat, and generate more income for them to support all the other armies
- Marines are the most common army, so updating them more often affects more people, both players and opponents (redressing balance issues, shaking things up, creating more variation)
- Marine stuff can often be used in other armies (things like Landraiders, Dreads, Rhinos, Heavy & Special weapons, Servitors etc can be used in Inq &
IG armies for example)
- Marines are a good starting point in the hobby, and anything that makes it easier/better/more affordable for new players has to be a good thing
so while i can appreciate that some people may be sick of Marines, or feel betrayed by
GW because their army had to wait longer for its new codex because Marines have to come first, logically thats the way it has to be. its better if they just come to terms with it (and if you cant beat 'em, join 'em - a
SM Combat Patrol costs less that £40...

).
besides, Marines dont always get things their way: how long have they been waiting for a (non-
FW) Drop Pod model?

p.s. something you will notice about AoS is that its a flame free zone.
