Daemons in August!

Postby Drax » Sun May 16, 2010 3:05 pm

taken from the GW newsletter!

"In August, the immortal legions of the Ruinous Powers - the Chaos Daemons - will pour forth once more from the Realm of Chaos to drown the Warhammer world and the galaxy of the 41st Millennium beneath a tide of blood and destruction. Even now, mystics are assailed by nightmarish visions of horror and death, the fractured minds of madmen echo with sibilant whispers, and the doomed clutch symbols of their weak gods closer to them.

A host of incredible new Citadel miniatures for both Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Daemons armies and Warhammer Daemons of Chaos armies will soon be released upon mortal battlefields. All will be revealed in July here on the Games Workshop website and in August's issue of White Dwarf magazine, so keep an eye out for more information."

Plastic horrors?
Plastic plague bearers?
The long awaited seekers I should think.

What else?

i should think so to that and the seekers - seems likely.

i also hope for dedicated herald models and named characters for each power, not just some for some!

Did I read somewhere that said the daemon prince mould had failed/got damaged or something: which is why it didn't get released asges back?

That could just be an unfounded rumour...

The broken mould rumour has been round most of the large 40k forums for quite a while. Always sounded unlikely to me, as it did to a lot of other people - the biggest reason being that breaking the mould doesn't break the master so it would be possible to just make a new mould. Much more likely if it really is a plastic DP is that GW decided to hold the release back until other daemon models were ready for a new wave release.

Of course, that model might never have been intended for release - it could have just been a test piece. It could even have just been a scratch build by a staffer, there's only the unsubstantiated word of a forum poster to go on that it was a plastic DP kit.

I can understand the Broken mold excuse for Metal and resin figures. They would need to be redone from the originals.
The molds for plastics are 3 foot square lumps of steel 6" thick. (seen at Gamesday)
No way they get broken without inflicting brute ignorance on them possibly with a sledgehammer.

Unless it's death by meteorite.

It could have been dropped on the head of someone who thinks putting prices up just after a recession is a good idea.

The rumour I heard, from a GW staffer no less, was that the DP's in the book were initial prototypes, but they couldn't get all the parts down to a single sprue as the developers wanted. Does sound even less likely than the busted mold theory to me, given how much they can get on sprues these days......

You can see how that could evolve into a broken mould rumour though
