Postby mortiferum » Fri Sep 11, 2009 9:09 pm

Seems forgeworld are about to release a new product - weathering powder

Not sure on Forgeworld price but I'd imagine its over priced and I just wanted to point out an alternative:

Forgeworld price £14.70 for six or £2.70 each.

Weathering powders are incredibly effective if used well, but generally are a lot of work to use as they tend to need extra varnish layers etc, espescailly if you are going to game with the models. Personally I keep them for showpieces like my FW tanks.

There's probably cheaper powders out there though - various ones on ebay for around the same price bracket. They do last a long time though - better value than the average paint pot.

It does mean that someone in GW has access to proper paint pots still. maybe they could use them for all of the paints?

Morti, had a look at the link....you know a cheap online retailer for the tamiya ones? are they cheaper?

As much as I believe GW are the Borg of the Hobby world, its often easier to buy there stuff as they use, ie, im going to assume the next FW masterclass books will utilise FW weathering paints so to follow there inst would be easier (considering I do nothing outside of GW hobby wise)

I don't I'm afraid - I purchased my Tamiya powders awhile back via Ebay.
