Fortress of Redemption

Postby timewizard » Fri Oct 23, 2009 9:02 pm

Just saw this on GW website.

Looks like an incredible model.

And for only $99.00 American (51.29 pounds if my currency converter has it right) it can be yours!

Gav posted the price of this up on the GF home page a few weeks ago, it's £58.70. You can't rely on a real currency converter :P

OOPS! Didn't see the GF site. That's what I get for shopping locally! :D

Still looks like a pretty impressive model. I'm currently working on too much stuff at the moment to even consider this!

I'm considering this as a focal point for our club's terrain features.

Can you seperate it, and have a big fat bastion and a a big perimeter (or something even better/ more elements?)... most things I've read have said its a singular kit (not able to from the box split..without work)
I am highly tempted.. last time I worked it out I would only be able to weasel personal delivery if both me and king make it to the final :D

It's listed as a 91 piece set, but it's possible it's one huge core piece (like the Temple of Skulls base is) and 90 gribbly bits to add to it, but I'd imagine that it will be able to split the main tower off if needed. And if not, a dremel and some patience should be able to cure that :P

Looking at some of the close up pics on the GW site it does look like the outer barricade/wall is separate panels, so building it up in pieces should be possible. If I get one I'll try to build mine with the two annexes, the centre floor section, and the tower as 4 separate sections so it can be stored and transported reasonably easily.

Had a massive clear out in the games room yesterday (some of you might cry at what I'm ditching (trip to the tip today)) so I now have room for one of these... but I have enough Imperial scenery to be honest and I don't think I'll be getting one, even though it does look good.

I think I might have to cut my scenery collection back a bit too, I started tidying the attic yesterday and found boxes of Amera stuff I haven't even put together yet ...

Yeah I've got amera stuff still lying around.

Mainly what I'm ditching is games I'll never play (keeping most of the models though) and duplicate stuff. Lots of paper, card and boxes going. Lots of room created.

How tall is the fotrtress? If I can't fit it anywhere it's a good excuse to not get one :)
