FW #202 - UM Dread, Nob Bikers, Zhufor, Masterclass Book

Postby Spack » Thu Sep 11, 2008 4:54 pm

Another FW newsletter just hit:

Hi There,

With only a few days to go before Games Day UK, we have just enough time for one last Newsletter and a few last minute sneak peaks of special surprises we have for the day! One other piece of good news is that I can confirm that we will have advance copies of our new book, Imperial Armour Model Masterclass Volume 1 available to buy at the show!

Thanks
Alan Bligh

Games Day UK Sneak Peaks!
First up we have some very early previews at some new models which we are hoping to have at Games Day UK in very limited quantities. These models cannot be reserved and they aren`t available for pre-order yet either. So, the only way you will be able to buy these models for now is at the show!

If you want to see these new models in their full glory, you'll have to go to the show or wait for for future Newsletters.

Ultramarines Venerable Dreadnought

Ork Nob Bikers

Ork players will get a chance to crush their enemies beneath their wheels with our new set of three Ork Warbiker Nobz! £52.00

Imperial Armour Model Masterclass Volume 1

Image

The first book of its kind produced by Forge World, Imperial Armour Model Masterclass has been many months in the making and something of a labour of love for its principle writers, Forge World designers Phil Stutcinkas and Mark Bedford. Two of the premier modellers in their fields, with a wealth of modelling experience under their belts, Mark is a multi-Golden Demon winner, while Phil has won the prestigious `Best of Show` award at Euro Militaire 2006.

The book is a 124 page full colour hardback intended for experienced hobbyists and goes into detail about numerous advanced modelling and painting techniques for making your Warhammer 40,000 models truly something special. This volume focuses on Imperial and renegade vehicles and contains in-depth sections and stage by stage guides on projects such as a the Renegade Medusa, a Cadian Stormsword, and dioramas such as the Krieg D-Battery Artillery Emplacement, the Imperial Typha-4 Airbase and the huge Siege of Vraks battle board. There is a real wealth of information in here, and I`m sure the book will be of interest to just about anyone involved in the hobby, I know it`s certainly opened my eyes to some new techniques!
We will have copies of Imperial Armour Model Masterclass available at Games Day UK and the book will be available for pre order after the show. £26.00

Is that price the warbikers right?? That woudl be over $100 US for 3 bikes. Seems a bit high even for FW prices. :(

Too bad, cause they did look good.

AdrianG, if you want anything picked up let me know and I'll see what I can do. I can't make any promises though - I must just give up queuing and wait to order next month.

jlong05, yes I think that price is right. For instance DK Quad Launchers and Heavy Mortars are £15 and £18 each, and the ork bikes appear to have a bit more resin to them so £17.33 each seems about right.

Ooohh, I might want a UM venerable dread :D Depends how much they are of course and I can wait until they are on general release.

Of course... I'm not sure what that means for the old venerable dread I haven't painted up yet!

If there is not too much UM bling I may get that Dread. I don't need it at all but I like the head.

As stated in the FW post, £24 - which will not include weapons of course, just the body + legs. :)

Probably quite a bit. GW feed the souls of redshirts into the forges. Thats why the price of metal models has increased and GW are having a recruitment drive. They have burnt out the current staff.....
