Legion of the Damned

Postby Spack » Tue Dec 01, 2009 2:15 pm

Just got an email from GW saying that the Legion of the Damned are not available to advance order, we'll get them added to the Gaming Figures shop as soon as we have the independent retailer details for them. Release date is stated as being 2nd January.

There is 1 box and 4 blisters available. The box contains five legionnaires including a sergeant. There are 2 different blisters of 2 additional boltgun armed legionnaires each, a heavy flamer, and a multi-melta.

Interesting. Just checked the codex... they look expensive for a big squad. The rules say their saving throw is invulnerable. Is this like the Wraith where we assume they have a 3+ arm save AND a 3+ inv save or just a 3+ inv save?

Anyone used them in a game?

RAW, just an Invulnerable. Not really seen many people try to argue against that TBH, even on the interwebs.

Yep, just a 3+ invulnerable - faced a squad at the tournament, not really that good - 2 veteran squads with Heavy Flamer and 2 Flamers each and FRFSRF from the Command HQ dealt with them in one turn.

His mistake was deep striking them on the objective near my table edge.

I've got a squad of the old ones, they aren't coming out the box, they can sit with ahriman.
If they had CCWs and a 3+ regular as well they might build something odd.. but man those upgrades are odd.
multimelta at the same cost as lascannon "but its bweecos you DS and can shootzz!" So why make plasma and melta and a flamer the same cost? and why have the combi melta sargent the same cost as everything else?
yuk.

5 man, multimelta melta combimelta 215 points Give me 4 DSing MM speeders any day.
