The mixed unit is survivable with it's inv save allocation, but by the time u build the unit u want they turn out to be expensive I think.
Also 12" charge is cool, buy they only wall 6" and run like everyone else.

This whole release is a bit of a dumb move by GW really as it can all be made cheaper with very simple conversions..

You can easily put your own Venom together though?

You can put a Venom together but I don't know how easy it is!
The razorwing and voidraven is another matter.

I bought a Ravager on Ebay......I was just being lazy and I thought I`d cut the assemby stage out. I got it and the guy had glued it together wrong so I will possibly make a Venom out of that if I can`t rescue it.

Here's a few links that you might find helpful then, first is from BOLS, pictures of a few entrants in a competition to make a venom model:
http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2010/12/ ... lenge.html

And this is a tutorial that the winner wrote up:
http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2010/12/ ... orial.html

It doesn't have any WIP pictures, but it is a pretty in depth arcticle about how he did the model.

Might help you out!

Just reread the codex entry for beastmaster. Am I missing something here.
The clawed fiend is T5. All others in unit are T3. Therefore while being shot at the majority Toughness kicks in and he's T3 like the others. :(

You're not missing anything.
Don't know why anyone would take this unit.

Here's a link to GW from yesterday.

At the bottom they "playtested" a few different beastmaster units.
FWIW they still don't look all that great to me.
