New FW stuff

Postby jlong05 » Tue Jun 03, 2008 4:56 pm

Well, the current new letter came out. I about cried when I saw this.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/chapdread.htm

Here are the experimental rule also.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/pdf/chap.pdf

This is a supremely magnificent model. I only wish Forgeworld had a US based location so shipping wasn't crazy.. Oh and the price wasn't as crazy either.

If any of you want to buy this and donate to me for being an overall nice guy. Just PM me for my address. :)

why is the asscan a free swap for the default heavy bolter.. do they really believe they are hitting them that hard with the rules? I think chaplin asspam venerable is the default loadout even with the 5th ed stuff (higher str\ more shots same AP slightly less range but in normal games enough and the chance of rending)
I guess that will get picked up in trials :D

Well you know I ignore any wording that says twin linked or master crafted on purpose as I am the only person I know who rolls 1s and 2s :P

Strange,
When I first saw this model at Salute this year, I wasn't that impressed.
For some reason it looks a bit better in the new website pics they've put up.
Maybe they tweaked it a bit.
All this aside, no good at all for my Space Wolves and perhaps a bit too pricey for a display model.
Not sure what to think of it.
Collector of Space Wolves, and all round awful painter!

I actually think the chaplain dreadnought is a ridiculous looking model. Sorry jlong05 :(

I notice the SB is not built in ;)

I've got to agree - this is almost as bad as the GW venerable dreadnought, that's an awful model too.

None of the FW dreadnoughts do - all the secondary weapons are attached to the body.

Yeah but I mean the RULES don't say it! They just say it has one.

Ah, I haven't checked the rules. That's a crappy oversight then.

OK, I finally got a chance to actually look at the rules. Color me disappointed there. I do however still like the model. If I had one I would probably just use it as a Venerable instead.

It would look cool as a Death Company Dread though.
