New trailer for Space Marine console game

Postby Spack » Fri May 29, 2009 10:44 am

There's a new trailer for the upcoming THQ game Space Marine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivXS-58a2EE

According to the press release, this will be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and will be unveiled at the E3 2009 expo.

Personal note: I have neither console. I'm hoping for a PC version ... :(

Or a darned fine emulator and purchasing said game..(note such an emulator to my knowledge does not yet exist- they stopped somewhere around PS1 and n64)

I fear some nastyass port (we seem to be reentering the era of games made for one thing and then square pegged through a round hole onto something else..ala shadow of the beast on the atari that only had 6 colours and no music) These days if a game (after max sales) gets stuck onto PC all the controls are dumb (e.g. no lean functions, not many hotkeys, very little finese (either run forwards or don't).. etc etc)

It doesn't look as clever as the early leaks where you went around building up combos and planning styles of attack.. much more button mashy (I'm getting a bit old for just button mashy)

Still look forward to seeing if LH gets it.

It has always been the prerogative of half-wits and fools to point out the Emperor has no clothes, but the Emperor remains the Emperor, and the half-wit remains a half-wit.-The Sandman (The friendly ones)

360 is the only way to play. Can't wait to see this released.

@hunter

If you read some of the reviews you will see that the game that was originally previewed with Chaos is not the same game as what is now being shown. The game changed when Relic took over the reigns of development. I think that it was another internal group that was doing the first version we all saw and that version may still exist.

@Angel

But my dad can beat up your dad. ;)

This makes me sad. :cry:

(I was going to buy a 360 for this game based off the original trailer)

I will reserve judgement for now...

Agreed, however the preview video of this new incarnation does look promising. It also appears to be more involved with various options and troop types which could be good. I was somewhat disappointed in the original versions take that weapons were delaying tactics and the real game was hand to hand.

I can't wait to see this advance and a playable demo appear on Live.
