YAY!!!!!!!

And i thought i would never want to see one of those again :P I was in germany with 4th Armoured Brigade (Desert Rats) for three years, these were originally mobile mortar platforms then got changed into APCs/Comms Platforms.

Ah the 432, you can fit 10 people in, bit of a squeese with all your kit tho, 10 space marines tho?!? not sure about that!

You all look at it in aww, but im sure if you had worked with them for 3 yrs like i had you would h8 them, 30mph top, always breaks down, kicks out loads of crap, load as hell, and you spend two days replacing the tracks, "track bashing".......not good :P

I think a bloke has two of these down in Sydney.
You may remember them from a story about someone going on a rampage against a teleco and taking out their celltowers (I know the Americans heard about it).

When they mentioned they were made of steel, it clicked with me, because from memory, our M-113s were aluminium.
That is not dead which can eternal lie

and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die

That's because they were made in the USA and we love to recycle. I believe the prototypes were costructed entirely out of recycled budweiser cans, maybe a few coors lite ones thrown in there too. For all I know, they might still be made out of the same cans!

We still use M113s in Afghanistan.

Man, APC designers get no love.

Fair enough. How about APC designers get no work. LOL

Well, I know some people who would like to beat the M-113 designers. At a base near where I used to live, the trainees learning to drive them had a habit of missing the bridges across creeks, landing the vehicle on its roof in water just deep enough to drown everyone inside. I guess the rear door just didn't work when upside down, in water, with the vehicle sunk a few inches in mud (I don't recall exactly what part of that kept the door from opening). There were at least three such incidents within 5 years.

Nasty! And inexcusable! One such incident within 5 years is one too many!

Thanks to BoLS, here is the latest Rhino construction installment:

http://belloflostsouls.blogspot.com/200 ... shape.html

Getting there! But the side hatches are non-functional, they just covered up the tracks.
Not to sound like a rules lawyer  but shouldn't they call it a "counts as" rhino, since you can't actually disembark from the side hatches?
