SM statue and ruins kitcoming in April

Postby timewizard » Mon Mar 15, 2010 8:05 pm

Just saw this over on BoLS.

Should open up some interesting modeling possibilities.

$25 seems a bit steep though, but for a 'three up' statue plus some ruins....

I think I'd want to see them in the flesh (or plastic) first before I'd consider them. There are more important things on my wish list though.

I can see me grabbing a couple for a large building I'm pondering, and maybe another couple if I do the city wall I'm considering.

Might make good (if not large) objective markers I suppose.

I don't have a games room, but I have a gaming table that folds up out of the way, and I try to plan the terrain pieces to fit in a couple of storage containers.

I'll be grabbing at least two for the "Cathedral of Illumination" I am designing (even using CAD to design the layout, it's THAT complicated!).

Sooo, you can capture the CAD image, save it as jpeg, and post it here for all to see, correct? 8)

Haha, no, my CAD image will be held in secret until I build said item, THEN I will release images of the Cathedral, along with the blueprints for all to use. However I want to make sure I create it first ;)

So far, it uses the boxes of the Imperial Sector, Shrine of the Aquila and now two boxes of Honoured Imperium :) And I've only built half of it so far! :P

Sounds interesting. Can you at least let on whether it will be an intact building or a ruin?
And possibly general size/footprint so I can reserve a spot for it on my table?

At the moment it is a semi-ruin. The whole building is intact and has supporting pillars inside. However, it is part of a warzone, and as such, will show battle damage on it. I'm not sure if it will be a complete building, it might perhaps be modular (the way I am building it, you could theoretically flip the design and build two halves, then put them together to make one building, or only use one half and use it to fill the side of a table).

Maybe I should open a project log on this, as I don't want to go too off-topic from this thread.
