Space Marines Spearhead

Postby IMF2000 » Tue Aug 12, 2008 9:54 am

Check it out:

http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront ... orignav=10

"The Space Marines of the Adeptus Astartes are Humanity's ultimate warriors, dedicated to the defence of the Emperor and the Imperium of Man. They are barely human at all, but superhuman, having been made superior, in all respects, to a normal man by a harsh regime of genetic modification, psycho-conditioning and rigorous training. Organised into small independent armies called Chapters, their unswerving loyalty is to the Emperor of Mankind and no other. This box set contains: one 144-page Codex: Space Marines, one multi-part plastic Drop Pod, three multi-part plastic Scout Bikes, five metal Sternguard Veterans, five metal Vanguard Veterans, one metal Thunderfire Cannon, one metal Sergeant Telion, One metal Sergeant Chronus, one metal Pedro Kantor and one metal Ultramarines Captain Sicarius."

Definitely on my hit list..

Tim, that is before. From Neal you are looking at $195.20 plus $4 shipping. If you buy a couple and some extra to get it to $500 retail it drops to $183.

Not too shabby. I could stand to buy two.

No .... must..... resist.

Is this box just to push their new stuff, or is this going to be the only way to get the new figures? I was looking at getting the sternguard and/or vanguard models, but certainly can't afford that entire box. Has anyone heard if they will be some "individually" like the current SM veterans are sold?

The Spearheads so far have all just been a way to get the new figures early - the individual boxes should available a month or so after the Spearhead comes out.

Is it just me or does £146 seem like a very random price to set, "£140 too cheaper £150 bit too much oooh I know £146 is just right"

However the new models look great, just too bad about all the ultra smurf charcters in the box set :)

Does anyone like the beak heads? I may swap beak head for regular if anyone gets the Sternguard or Vanguard.

I do like the beaky heads, but would only probably have a couple(4 at most in a 10 man squad) Think they give just enough difference to a squad to make them less uniform.

Personally i dont really like bare headed marines (plus i suck a painting flesh :) ) so guess i'd use beakies instead of bare headed

Let me know if you ever want to swap.

I think 145 pounds would be been nicer. The US price is weird also ($244). Maybe they are just using a random number generator.
