I assume you're refering to the requirement to provide the army rosters using the template? That could be awkward, trying to fit it all in.

Page 5 is interesting too - a list of product codes for the legal codexes. I guess that's to prevent players turning up with older codexes that don't have all the revisions - but a pain for WH and DH players with the first printings...

Looks like they'll only the latest printing of each. I don't have the product code for the Orks first printing so I can't confirm which one they're using.

Also I see that the FAQ won't be available till 4 weeks before the first heat.

For the roster, I think it might be possible to create a template for AB3 so that it prints it out in the accepted format. Whether someone manages to do it in time or not is another matter though ...

i don't know if you've been to any tournaments spack so please forgive me if i'm telling you things you already know, but the FAQ is a collection of questions posed by attendees so basically they give you a chance to get your questions in and receive a reply

i'm definately going to the WFB ones, and am thinking of going to the 40k one too - may be i'll see you there!

I know what the FAQ is - it's just that with it now being left till 4 weeks before the heat there's less time for the attendees to get odd answers adjusted in time. I now GW revise the FAQ between each heat too - but the earlier they release the better as it gives players more time to digest and feedback on the content.

It is novel, to some extent they cut short the amount of bitching, because by the time its released every one is busy last minute painting and rushing along, it also means that folks can't rely on dodgy decisions in the 1st wave as GW judges could go either way on it.
But on the other I remember when they released it with good time one year and LH knew well in advance that drop trop guard had been kicked in the nuts..pain to only find that out a fortnight before if that happened these days.

Also remember 4 weeks before= at 4 weeks it will be sent by a oranotaun to turn into pdf, he'll lose it, they send him another, he converts the file, sneds it to the wrong guy, next day it gets sent back, over the day he sends it around the company till it gets where its going... some one has lunch goes home for the week end and then monday lunchtime uploads it.. people who have been looking for it intesively have burnt out and only find out the next day when someone screams about an error in the warseer rules section (which is reported as not a rules question and removed) but the second thread gets picked up and put into GT group threads.. so whats that 2 weeks for those in the first heat :)

Yeah, I saw that a couple of days ago. It appears to be a massive disclaimer that should simpley read:

"We know our GT judges don't know any of the rules, they'll make something up on the day based on something they've just pulled out of their backsides, but it's not official and definately not our fault!"

Yeah, it definitely seems to read that there will be no FAQ this time around, other than a PDF which has things like "no beer at the tables", "fire exits are to the front of the building", and "no running with scissors". Maybe the effort that was put into the WHW FAQ will be pushed into the GW FAQs, but that's just wishful thinking.

Just a point - I think the codex product codes are standard, with revisions maintaining the same product code, as I have the first(ish) print run of the 4th edition ork codex, and it has the same product code, despite some of its errors (bike nob with 1 wound, dakkaguns listed in one place as assault 2, elsewhere as assault 3, etc). Perhaps just to stop people bringing along outdated (3rd/4th edition) codexes?

Seems like it's just GW skirting around making any kind of a rules decision. It would be almost impossible to come up with a rule or errata for every eventuality, but a short stroll through the rules section on many forums shows that there are a significant number of issues that are crying out for a ruling from the people (or company) that wrote the rules in the first place.
Falling back on the old "die it off" is not a rules answer, it's a cop out.
Sorry  off soapbox now.
